I've always done oil changes myself on my vehicles. There's nothing like the satisfaction that you did it yourself and knowing it was done right.

I think I pay around $60 for the 8 quarts of oil and oil filter for my Camaro. I get a 5-quart jug and then 3 individual quart bottles. I've always ran Mobil 1 5W-30 but I might try Mobil 1 Extended Performance on my next oil change. Extended Performance is supposed to break down less in higher oil temperatures. It's just extra insurance during high performance driving and idling in traffic during an Arizona summer.

Since I oversee a pile of stores I get to make sure my service is done the way I want mine and all our customers cars serviced to a very high standard. I use Pennzoil Ultra Pure Plus with a Napa Gold filter done at Midas Auto Service. Retail is aprox $120 with a complete car courtesy check and written report on all levels and fluid condition.

I push my car hard and my guys know that it has to be tip top.

Do my own changes. I changed the factory fill @1,800 with Mobil 1 5w-30 EP. I have always used mobil 1 since the late 80's and never had an engine failure, however after reading about all these after market cams failures and mobil1, I decide to research and the consensus seems Mobil1 isn't what it used to be and the EPA plays it part in that. The shop that tuned my car and is known for high HP builds recommended not to run Mobil1. I drained the Mobil 1 after 2,500 miles of use and it was jet black(not that necessary means anything) however I went with Castrol Edge 5w-30 with titanium this time based on UOA reports I have seen. It seems to get an oil that doesn't shear and has an HTHS around 3.5 with robust additive package is limited to European oils and or performance oils.

Still on the fence if I want to take advantage of the 4 oil changes I get. After that I'm the only 1 doing oil changes.

Since Ive added a 2300 SLP supercharger , does the oil need to be changed more often?

DIY here with Redline. And before I install the oil filter, I fill it up with oil. I just feel better about doing my own service and it is so easy to do our these cars.

Mobil 1 here, change every 5k miles. I use my local Chevy dealership and a Mobil 1 oil change with tire rotate is $79. I don't have to worry about disposing of oil.

I have used Mobil 1 in all of my vehicles for years. Since many of my vehicles are driven infrequently, I believe Mobil 1 provides additional protection on start up.

I usually change the oil on my vehicles myself but I plan on utilizing my 2 years of free maintenance. Got my first one done a few weeks ago.

went for 80k dealer oil changes 5w30 M1 ($70)

Just converted to 10 min penzoil oil change. I put in penzoil 5w30 platnum ultra out the door for $97.... the engine seems like it has much more power on low end and is saving me fuel as advertised.

They gave me a $25 mail in rebate on next oil change...
