Possible Deposit Refund

Do u think its possible to get my deposit back that I put down , to order a camaro 1LE? The dealership had told me when I ordered that it would be 4-6 weeks but that's not looking to be true since i dont have a tpw yet. so I found another dealer who has a 2014 1LE on lot I could buy now? Thanks for your help.

If you gave the deposit in a check or cash , it is up to the dealer . If you put the deposit on it with a credit card you may be able to dispute it .
Good luck I a'm going through something like that myself .

When I ordered mine, I was told that it was not refundable! Besides, I have never ordered a car in my life and in so doing, I got everything that I wanted. The waiting seemed long, but now looking back, the wait gave me a chance to look at different ideas on this forum and get things for my car! This is my DD and the wait was well worth it!

If you can't / won't wait and want the other car that is available ,you can ask the dealer to cancel and see if you can get him to unwind/squash the deal. If you stop the check , you may get a call from the dealers attorney . If the deposit is small ( $500.00 or less ) you might just take the hit and walk away . Or you can talk to the sales manager and see if they might throw you some freebies to hang in there . Maybe it can be worked out . Remember what the dealer told you about delivery time is only verbal ,that check and your signature on the order are a legal binding order . In short it is all up to your dealer at this point .

If its taking a unreasonable amount of time longer than what they told you, I would use that as a reason to why you want your deposit back. Cancel the check and tell them to kick rocks. Also, read all the paperwork you signed when you put down the deposit...

Depends on the dealership.. I made sure to ask that question before I put down a deposit and to get it in writing.

Hendrick repeatedly said as long as the car is not some crazy color they have no problem selling it off there lot if I backed down. Thankfully I didn't back down !

I asked about this specifically when I provided my check for my order and was told they would have to provide a refund if I wanted it back.... maybe its has something to do with NJ law

Some states are big on consumer affairs/ rights , NY ,NJ ,CA MA will protect the customer. Other states like AZ are less pro customer ,I don't know how Florida is .

Instead of asking a bunch of internet air chair quarter backs why don't you just go ask the dealer for your deposit back.

Tell them you can no longer afford the car. I would not tell them you found another one.

That's good advice!
