The front end looks like it took some abuse... like maybe they rammed it to get it where they wanted it?
My buddy tows cars that are illegally parked. His truck can extend the tow bar under the car, then bars flip out and grasp the wheels. It then lifts that axle off of the ground, and he drives away. This takes a total of about 20 seconds, and is done without leaving the driver's seat... all remote control. For vehicles that have wheels on the other end of the car that are in gear or braked, and touching the ground, he's got a pair of dollies that are placed next to each wheel, then a few cranks of the hydraulic handle lift the wheel off of the ground, where they can roll easily on the dolly wheels. Yes, he needs to exit the vehicle for the dollies, but even on the rare occasions that he needs to use them, that adds no more than two minutes. Generally, he uses these tactical methods to tow the car a couple of blocks away, where he can then avoid angry, gun- toting car owners, and he can then secure the vehicle more securely for the trip back to the impound lot. But... it is not difficult to physically take possession of ANY car, no matter how locked up/ chocked up/ braked up the vehicle is. Last edited by Scalded Dog; 04-14-2014 at 05:02 PM. |
