New Amp

Hey guys i bought a system a few months ago w/ kenwood amp it blew today. This amp caused my FM reception to turn into crap. So while im buying a new amp im wanting a to get one that will not interfere with my FM reception. Any recommendations? Think a 500 watt as i only have one 10 in a ported box.

check to make sure you have your BLUE power antenna wire connected from Kenwood harness. The Kenwood radio requires this to be connected for best reception

Double D, he didn't say anything about a kenwood radio. Certain Amps interfere with the radio reception, JL amps are really popular on here, also Alpine. Just make sure you buy from an authorized online reseller in case you need to use the warranty.

I know that

I was saying that this is a common issue with reception with Kenwood

Arc Audio amps are very nice as well

I would say best bet is find an amp that is Class A/B topology. Class D amps are often the culprit of the radio interference.

Check these out:

Rockford Fosgate Power T400-2 - $250

Precision Power PPI PC650.2 - $190

CerwinVega HED31000.2 - $125

Not sure what budget you're looking for, but that Rockford Fosgate Power T400-2 probably puts out closer to 500W.

It's really odd too. Some have reported some interference with the JL 700 /5 or the 800 watt... But none have reported problems with the XD 400 /4 JL amp.

I am using the XD 400 and haven't had any problems.
