Need a new audio system. Any suggestions?
I really hate how the stock audio sounds like. Especially with the type of music I listen to (hiphop and dubstep) I know nothing about audio so what do you guys recommend? I rather have a punchy bass

do you have any more specifics on what parts of the kit, what you want out of it etc are?
What type of music do you listen to? Country? Rock? Blues? all the above? Do you want the sound to be super great, or are you looking to just load up on Bass to the point your roof bowes out? Are you looking for a listing of what others have in now? Just saying, its kind of a general statement, and depending on what you want to end up with, people could have a dozen configurations they list on here, all not what your looking for. |

Amp and sub will give you the deep bass you want pretty easy to install for only a few hundred dollars. Unless you go crazy insane with it.

I just had the Rockford Fosgate 10" Punch 300 installed today. For the money it cant be beat. It's a powered sub and compliments my BA Premium perfectly.
So far I love it, for hip hop I'd get the 12" and I've seen it for under $200 |

My first suggestion would be to look in the audio section of this forum. There are hundreds of threads about subs and amps that would give you ideas about what kind of equipment to buy and what price range you want to get into.

My budget is around $300 - 400 . Are there any brands I should stay away from?

Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-10 - $200
http://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fosga.../dp/B007AQ2W2Q Fit's in the trunk without modification. Well under budget. Almost no hassle to install, it'll get you the bass you are looking for. Might want to spend $50 for a small amount of CLD like Dynamat or Damplifier for the decklid for when you introduce the extra bass. Checkout this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=278828 Youtube video(not mine): I'd recommend a Scosche 8-gauge wiring kit. Scosche makes their power cables from Oxygen Free Copper, is fairly true to AWG size, and doesn't jack up the pricing on it. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Scosche-68...-Amps/14667122 You won't find the 8ga OFC alone for what they charge for the whole kit. Last but not least, while you're at Wal-mart, grab some 3M T-taps to plug your speaker level inputs into the sub. Shouldn't be more than $10 for that |

I have a pair of Rockford Fosgate Punch 12" shallow P3's in a slim box, and a T400-2 amp, and I'm really happy with them. I listen to Dubstep too, and knowing bass music, I would really recommend getting 12's over 10's so they can hit just a bit lower, as most dubstep and hip-hop have bass sounds that you would otherwise miss.
Rockford Fosgate subs were made for Dubstep.
