Why the depreciation concerns?
I am not one of these guys who thinks this car is going to turn into a collectors item, but I don't get the depreciation thing!
Why would this car depreciate any more than any other car? If electric vehicles take over, than gas demand will go down. If demand is low and supply is high, than gas prices will remain somewhat reasonable. It seems like some people think that this car is going to be worth less than the value of the scrap metal itself in a few years. |

Plus people can't be all happy all the time. They have to be doombringers to every party.

Amen brother, I could care less on the depreciation, I'm driving it until the engine falls out or I die.

I don't plan on selling the car. Unless, for some reason, I'm not happy with the car (very unlikely), or a better model comes out, I'm not planning on getting rid of it. I have to always have at least one Camaro in my garage

I am expecting the usual car depreciation. There are some recent posts though that have stated that the car will be worthless in a few years. I tried to respond in one of them but the thread was locked.
I plan on having mine for many years. |

I understand and accept the depreciation.
For reference, you can get a Pontiac G8 GT for $22,000 with low miles after only 10 months on the market. About a 33% drop in 10 months.

It won't matter how nice, how powerful or how trendy the car is, it will decline dramatically in value once you drive it home. Sucks, but that's just the way it is. As for you folks who say it doesn't matter because they will never get rid of it; never say never. I am willing and able to part with any possession I have if it means a choice between putting a roof over my family's head or food on the table. If it were to ever come to that choice, I would certainly be looking to make as much as I could on the re-sale, so that aspect most certainly matters. |

Most people rolling in GT500's don't need to worry about stuff like that. (as in it being a collector car), however I still think its ridiculous the markups dealers put on it.

My intention is to keep it and pass it on to one of my children hoping that they too have an appreciation for what it takes to create a fine peace of machinery like this Camaro. In my eyes it will be worth every penny I pay for it on the first day and it same will be true 20 years from now. Don't sweat the small stuff. Why worry about the loss before you get it? How can you put a price on the good times you are going to have in it? if you are looking for an investment, than I don't know what to say to you but if you are looking for machine that you can look over day in and day out and each time say "wow how did they think of that to get the extra performance?" Than I believe this is the car for you. Just look at the spec sheets and everything the GM people are saying about this car. From the designer in Australia to the production line in Canada, this car is world class.
