Anyword? Did the shop figure the problem?. I called whipple yesterday they offer it with a CAN tune now and warrantied ..adds 125 to the wheels on a dynojet.. it seems the stock zl1 can make 650 to the wheels aswell on the dynojet.. the numbers I quoted earlier was 610 plus or minus on mustang or drive line. I still think this is the way to go..

I would say that spinning the 1.7 hard to make 650 will make more heat than the 2.9 and how much ever ot takes to make

Base pulls 550 or so
Upgrades to 1.7L (no meth) 650 ish
Whipple 680

Hopefully you get the results soon!

I think we found the problem... new accel spark plug wires. The builder called the supplier and they are sending better ones. They said that they were having problems with them.

There were 20 cars getting dynoed that day and I left early. But one guy that was there all day said any car that had horsepower had low values.

Can’t wait to go to the other dyno.

Just use the stock ones.. If you insist on getting aftermarket do it right and get Firecore50.

Stock ones are on now. I’ll wait for the others before any testing.

I'M BACK! Got the dyno results!

2.9 Whipple
2" kooks headers
kooks high flow cats
Rotofab intake (what could be used)

The box tune from Whipple was close but way to much fuel (600/600), the only tune was to the air fuel to correct mixture (700/655). With the larger headers we were only pushing less than 7 PSI.

Next is a Texas speed special ground cam and lifter hardware, and maybe a smaller pulley. The new cam has 32% lobe for fuel, so I'm hoping 800 to 850 RWHP.

It's hard to tell from the pic but was the 700/655 at the wheels?

Sounds like a fun ride!

Not likely to happen without methanol or a supplemental fuel system.

I'm just hoping! I think with only 93 octane verses 91 octane it could be done. I measured it to the Exorcist and it could be close:

THE EXORCIST Upgrade Includes:

• High-flow Supercharger System - CHECK Whipple
• Custom HPE Camshaft - CHECK Texas speed
• Ported Cylinder Heads - ONLY 25 HP
• Upgraded Valve Springs and Retainers - CHECK Texas speed
• Upgraded Intake valves & Exhaust Valves - STOCK
• Upgraded Lifters and Pushrods - CHECK Texas speed
• High Flow Intercooling System - STOCK
• Intercooler Heat Exchanger Upgrade - STOCK
• Long-tube Stainless Steel Headers - CHECK Kooks
• Stainless Steel Midpipes - STOCK
• High Flow Catalytic Converters - CHECK Kooks

Unless I get heat soak, and the ported heads and midpipe is too restrictive I should be close. Remember that is 1000 on the motor and 850 to the wheels.

Personally I would be happy with 770 at the wheels. It drives so good and pulls so hard. Still getting 21 MPG on the highway and 18 MPG on the back roads.

Is the fueling a issue on the whipple now.. The cam should take car of this?

Are you going to have to run e85 and the cam to make more power? Or meth?

I'm shooting for 700 on the 1.9L Im 650 to 659.. Was hoping to port the blower, Add 103mm TB, and port the heads since ill have most of the work done..

I like the idea of the whipple and not wasting the money towards the small blower but I want the 2650 from maggie..

I see the ZR1 blower is out its a 2650 i heard and fits out car but some mods may need to be done to the lid or have a lid made since the lid may touch the frame by the windshield also a taller CF insert maybe needed..

When we first dynoed the car it was pig rich. So there is still more fuel in stock form, extra fuel from the cam should do the trick.

I had to cut a section of the hood for the Whipple to fit too.

The most surprising thing is how cool the Supercharger stays. The 1.9 was so hot you could cook an egg on it and the Whipple is barely warm.

I was hoping to see you pulley it a little to see what a lift pump and the rest of your mods got you.
