Glad you're ok, but the GoFundMe is selfish as f. Sorry to be that blunt, but it's a sports car. This is like when a kid creates a page asking for a $3,000 fully spec'ed MacBook Pro.

If you can't afford a replacement, get a cheaper car. Maybe one with front wheel drive that's easier to control in bad weather.

There are people hurting from Harvey right now who need the money. You do not. End of story.

I personally believe he was going well over 35.. sorry..but I have a V6 and they come with all season tires.. they handle quite nicely in the rain, much better than my Z28.

Can we get this thread removed? I'm sure soliciting donations has got to be against some forum rule, especially for such a selfish reason.

As for the OP, grow up and take responsibility for your mistake. You crashed your car and you decided not to go with gap insurance, why should we foot the bill for your **** ups?

should have gap insurance, or a down payment not ,

shit happens it sucks pay the piper and move on.

as go go fund me seems a little selfish, should be for people who really really need it,

I have driven 500 hp c7 corvette in massive rain storms in Orlando florida here, you slow down pretty simple.

i think "distasteful" is the most accurate description of opening a gofundme for another Camaro. i would lose my mind if my son ever did that...

Let's see if I have this right....

He makes really poor decisions

1.Bought a car he couldn't afford and got himself into negative equity
2.Wrecked it by his own fault - yes it's the OP's fault - regardless of the conditions it's driver failure. The insurance company will see it that way. He'll need a second go fund me page for the rate increase.
3. Now in a bit of a financial predicament having to pay 5K for a car he no longer has

Due to the now acceptable norm of the entitlement crowd, someone else should now help him escape accountability for those poor decisions?

Barking up the wrong tree here. Not me. Welcome to the adult world. The really sad thing is that folks may actually give some money.

Life can be a bitch sometimes. Sorry to hear about being under on the car...hope you figure it out. Always get GAP insurance on a new car, unless you're putting something like 50% down or buying out right with cash (obviously).
Strange, my car handles great in the rain, a lot better than average.

First off, I'm glad you and no one else got hurt. Cars can be replaced, people can't.

On another note, man up and learn to take some responsibility for your actions instead of asking for handouts for a CAR. If you can't afford a new one, get something you can until you can afford one... you are not entitled to a new Camaro, nor should you be asking for donations for one when you and only you are the one that caused the wreck of the last one. What a waste of air.

I'm sure he was in a hurry to go no where and crashed. It takes balls to ask people for money cuz of your stupidity. Why would anyone give you money to replace YOUR car. No one cares. IF you can't afford it time for a cheaper car pal.
