L99 Camaro on slicks

Would it be safe to run a set of slicks on an L99 Camaro with stock axles?... or would it be better to run drag radials? I put in a 1 piece carbon fiber driveshaft and have 3.91 gears also. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

How modded are you?

I raced on DRs for a while, but once I threw on slicks I broke my spider gears on the 3rd pass. But I also cut a 1.47 short time and went 10's.

I have an ls9 cam, long tube headers, one piece carbon fiber driveshaft, 3.91 gears with a Tru trac differential. It is also lowered with bmr rear control arms.

Random, since you have the Eaton, that's good. Slicks are actually easier on the driveline than drag radials.

Do you think the stock axles will be fine with the slicks then?

Yes. But I think anyone who drag races a lot on stock axles should buy a back up pair. I see them cheap all the time, like $100-200 for the pair.

Sure have a back up set I have a backup diff also that been setting in my shop for 5 years. But I see no reason to spend money on part that not needed for the HP. I average 100 passes a year maybe more. And try to rip the guts out of it on ever pass. Not saying they wont break but I have put them to the test. They are still holding up.
