There's a lot of buffeting with the windows down.

Mmm. Considering what people are spending on audio upgrades, I wonder if a tire upgrade might be more cost effective. I have the Bose system, and I am starting to think it produces adequate bass which is being drowned out by the cabin/tire noise. It sounds pretty good at idle.

I wonder if there are any SPL measurements comparing different tires over in the tire forum.

I have a convertible. With it being my first convertible, I was expecting it to be on the loud side. However, I think it's pretty quiet. To my untrained ear, I'd say it's just as quiet as, if not quieter than, my 4th Gen Z28 with T-tops.

Thanks, carrying on a conversation in my C7 was difficult on concrete highways. The exhaust wasn't the issue, the road noise was really loud.

Non run flats are both quieter and offer a softer ride.

Audio testers have shown that the Bose system reduces Bass when the car gets above 45mph. This may be confusing people really paying attention with their ears and think that the music is being drowned out potentially.

Just something to consider.

I think the car is fine and noise is right where I'd expect it to be. I just gotta chase down the various rattles that have grown around every speaker in the car (particularly the rears) and then it's golden.

Given the comments so far, I suspect the 1LE and ZL1 tires will increase the road noise a fair amount. It seems Chevy thinks 2SS buyers wouldn't appreciate the extra road noise given they are going for the comfort features of the 2SS...what would tempt me is considering an 18 or 19" tire/wheel with non-run flat performance tires in the width of ZL1/1LE. Quick turn-in might be compromised a bit for more comfort and better compliance with road imperfections. Of course, then the Camaro might get too close to the ATS-V...I recall reading no Cadillac sedan is going to go with super low-profile tires...probably for that reason...

yes, the intricacies of this system are annoying.

Does the sun roof need to be full open to stop the buffeting? Will just the rear canted up do the trick?

Going from a family sedan to the V6 with regular tires, I would say it's pretty loud. Not enough to make me get rid of the car but definitely noticeable. I guess it all depends on what you're used to.
