That's an awesome price for the Pace Car...wonder why it's not already gone?
Edit: I called the dealership about the Pace Car; its "new", because it hasn't been titled, but it has over 5,000 miles on it. Several people has inquired about the authenticity of the car as a festival car. I believe they have some documentation to prove it. I talked to their service dept and none of the TSBs or recalls have been performed on it.
My other concern is what was done putting those 5,000 miles on it.

Car 39. Trying to find out who the driver was.

5K miles? Typical Pacer if ran through the festival could net around 4K miles. The dealer probably put the rest on. They've had it since July 2016 I believe.

Year end is always a nice time to buy. You have to get in early to get exactly what you want but don't buy too early. Dealer rebates and tags happen all the time near the end of the year and is a method of eliminating old inventory. No dealer wants to have a 2016 model on the lot when the new year hits because everyone buying wants a "new" car. The thing is this, don't be afraid to shop around and take your time. Picking becomes slim around late Nov. I bought mine in mid Oct and selection was getting thin. i was able to get almost everything I wanted. The only thing mine didn't come with was the magnetic ride which wasn't a deal breaker for me. Besides, the one that I was looking at that did have magnetic ride did not have the adrenaline red interior.

Thanks for the info on that. I didn't realize the festival activities would rack up that many miles.
I see you had a pace car. would buying one like this 2016 one give you pause?

If you are a show car guy like me, not at all. But if you plan to make it more of a daily driver, then I wouldn't buy this. It's too unique to be modified or driven a lot. If I wasn't ordering a ZL1 or wanting a 50th Anniversary year camaro, I'd already have this one in my garage.

Yes, it would be my DD. I appreciate the feedback, and also agree, I would put way too many miles on it.

Pace Car

Yeah, the fact that it hasn't sold yet makes me think that the $39,999 price is not "real" probably have incentives stacked where you would have to be a high school teacher, former military, using farmers insurance, who currently leases both a mustang and a chevy, etc, etc.

Maybe I should have pulled the trigger on the 2SS that started out at 45K that they offered me for $35,800, or done the one in NC for a little less. I just didn't want to pay for them to ship it to me, or to buy a plane ticket, drive 10 hours, and put 700 miles on it right off the bat.

My first car was a 70 El Camino with a 350 and 12" glass packs. It was a hunk of junk but it sounded so sweet. The resonance was perfect, setting at a red light on the square the idle would start shaking the windows in the stores more and more as I sat there. I know I got it up to 160 MPH on country roads, and it is a miracle I didn't kill myself with it, but 17 year olds think they are immortal. A Camaro was going to bring back a smile and some old times, oh well....Guess it is a Corolla life for me for a decade or so longer.

Buy the car that makes you smile. If you buy the "cheaper" car without the color or options you want you will not be happy. Just do it. Camaro's are fun to drive every time!

The 2SS for 35,800 sounds pretty good to me. I'm think I'm about to buy a 2017 2SS 50th with NPP, sunroof, and nav for 43,400. Supposedly according to invoice and msrp and blue book that's a good deal. It dosent seem like it from what I'm seeing everyone who bought their 2016s a few months ago.
