Headlights Too bright?
Most of my driving is around town, day and night. But last night I was on a long trip down a 2 lane highway. I was constantly flashed by other drivers because of my headlights. I love how good I can see what is in front of me at night, but damn, I seem to piss opposite traffic off. Kinda Annoying.

I noticed this last night while driving home from work. In all honesty I dont think that the lights are too bright, its that they are pointed up to high. Much higher than my 5th gen. When i turned on my brights I was like holy shit

Adjust them down if they seem to be out of correct alignment.
A lot of drivers still aren't used to HID even if they're not being blinded by them. They look whiter and thus brighter than halogen and drivers will flash as a courtesy thinking you have your highs on - despite it not actually affecting them. If you're angled down and they're still flashing you, I'd say to flash them back. It's not like the 3 seconds your car is in front of them as they drive past you is going to do anything to their vision. Having your highs on is far more annoying to people driving in front of you with traffic, and it should be obvious to you if your low beams are angled bad enough that you're lighting up their car's mirrors. I chock it up to californians wearing sunglasses inside their limo tint cars all the time. Their sensitive eyes can't take any kind of light. I drive around without addtl tint or sunglasses and most conversations suggest that I'm either a warlock or mutant here. |

Really simple.. Shine the lights on a wall and see what they look like.. If they seem too high do not adjust them; have the dealer do it.

Yep HID's make people think youre high beaming them...until you high beam them back. My previous 2 cars had them and it was the same thing.

My problem around here is the road undulates or small rise and fall of small hills, my dims will get them as the front of the car raises with the road. If that is the case, Not much you can do about that. If you do flash back, do it quickly, just for a second. Do not just leave them on high as you maybe flashing an oncoming LEO.

There is another big post on here, just adjust them down a inch or so and it works very well. Or go to Plastek and order the dark headlight tint and it darkens them up just right.

If it is angled correctly and they keep flashing you, you can purchase a train horn fairly cheaply online. Just toot that thing right as they are passing you to let them know what you think about their flashing highs at you.

I took my SS out to Parker, AZ yesterday and returned on the 2 lane desert roads last night. I got a lot of this. A big thanks to the driver who just blinked their brights twice instead of leaving them on. I correctly guessed that this meant they were warning me instead of making a point, so I slowed down and saw the CHP not two miles later.
The HID headlights are brighter, and I think the factory angle on the new Camaros is a bit high. Haven't decided yet if I want to do anything about it or not. They do light up a lot of road. |

In my opinion the factory alignment is high compared to other cars with xenons. I plan to realign if I get a 1LE.
