There is always something faster out there.....and for those of us who care we all now we mod each others cars so at that point it's just a "who has a bigger wallet" thing....
Just my .02

I can't imagine why anyone with a 2016 Camaro SS would be concerned about the Hellcat. It's not really a competitor to the Camaro line since it's cost is high, it's only attribute is straight line performance and it's ugly. Chevy will introduce Camaros with higher HP, but I doubt you'll ever see one with HP exceeding 600 hp. Unless the Hellcat has drag radials, I'm sure the Camaro bone stock will win most sanctioned drag races.

My guess is still 640 HP and a curb of 3,950lbs
However I'm not so confident on it beating the Hellcats MSRP..the LT4 isn't as cheap as the LSA was and as a whole the car is more expensive. |

They are close enough; it's up to the driver. Road course, well, i'm betting more dominant car will be the ZL1 time and time again.

Unless the LT4 is literally tuned to produce less power..it will make 650HP.
There's no reason for it to make less power. If anything it costs more to write a special calibration just for a ZXX rather than just adapting the Z06's. |

That is exactly my guess 640 and 3950lbs. I think it's gonna be a close drag race. I think the next LT4 car will be really close to the hellcat pricing.

The ZL1 could have better power to weight than the Hellcat...plus more tread.

Wonder how much the price to build id between the LSA and LT4..don't believe they are materially different except for forged pistons on the LT4? And isn't the Hellcat motor hand built??

Great discussion. I'm sure GM will bench mark the Hellcat and the GT500 when possible to give us a winner. I think GM is serious about competing well against the competition. Yep, I would love to see a 650 hp Camaro, but I won't hold my breath.

Well the MSRP from GM on the crate motors is $14,006 (LSA) and $15,625 (LT4) respectively. The Hellcat...I'm not sure on. I know it's between the LT4 and LS9 in terms of MSRP on a crate. |
