I think it's just the angle. Doesn't look like that in every picture.

The wheels look staggered to me. If this is the zl1 with an LT4 variant they have to be staggered.

Why is that?

Look at the z06 and the CTS-V

z06

Front: P285/30ZR19
Rear: P335/25ZR20

2016 CTS-V

front: 265/35ZR19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport
rear: 295/30ZR19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport

A staggered setup helps control oversteer on a road course when you are trying to put 640+ ft/lbs of torque to the ground. If it has an LT4, I would bet it will be a staggered setup.

If they create some kind of LT7 N/A with 550hp, then maybe you would see a square setup similar to the Z28, and maybe not, that's still a lot of low end grunt to control.

The current Gen5 ZL1's have always had staggered wheels/tires. Nothing new there.

Maybe I'm using the wrong term. Does wheel diameter look smaller in the front, and larger in the back? If it was the angle, the front would look bigger, as they are closer to the camera.

Thought oversteer was the domain of the rear tires and suspension, but nothing to do with front tires (since those help with understeer).

Its a good thing....

I hope they lower the exhaust note a bit too. Although I like the sound of the SS, it sounds a bit raspy....higher pitch than I was hoping.

Looks like the front rotor fills up the entire wheel.

I can see what you're saying. But I think its just the angle of the pictures taken. would be weird if they ran different diameter wheels.

I would think if they're testing a convertible variant this is going to be more of a ZLx type vehicle as opposed to a hard core track Z28 type vehicle.

A staggered setup helps control oversteer for an unskilled driver on a road course when you are trying to put 640+ ft/lbs of torque to the ground. If it has an LT4, I would bet it will be a staggered setup.

Fixed. Even with all the power I have on my ZL1 I wasn't rotating the car how I liked, so I went to a 305x30x19 square set up.
