Car acting funny tonight - Should I be concerned?
Hey, guys. So, tonight I noticed my (2012) SS was acting a bit abnormal (this hasn't happened before). After a few seconds at idle, the car begins shaking a bit. It keeps shaking and the acceleration is pretty choppy/jumpy until I hit about 1,500 RPMs. I've also noticed some decel pop on occasion at low RPMs. No CEL or anything like that, though. All I've done is long tube headers and a Dyno tune back in May, haven't had a single issue since then. I, luckily, just dropped it off for inspection and informed the head mechanic about the issue (I know him very well, so he won't make up an issue just to get some money out of me).
Can anybody help me out here - anybody know what the issue may be? I'm kinda freaking out just thinking about having to take it into the dealer and dealing with their usual garbage. Thanks, guys. I appreciate it! |

Har! I grew up in Cincy. Another sign of the apocalypse - Bengals 8-0! Hell, with the hundreds and hundreds of things the computer monitors, I'd have to point to the tune. Begs the question, do these outfits that do tunes stand behind the gremlins that can and do surface?

No codes?
Could be about a thousand things.. No bueno, but not much you can do until it gets worse or at least happens consistently. |

This is the time when you clean the MAF, dump the catch can , clean the air filter, dump fuel injector cleaner in with the gas, spray the throttle body clean, check the plugs and wires.....

Finish the current tank of gas off, and see if it is still happening with the next tank. You might have gotten gasoline with some contaminants (even water) in it, and it's creating a little misfire every now and then.
I wouldn't really worry about it unless it continues through the next tank or two of gasoline... |

Does the fuel guage say "F" or "E"???
Lol j/k! Dump a can of Seafoam in the gas this usually clears out some contaminates, water, etc... |

I've experienced this issue twice with my 15 SS.
It was random, and only at idle, it felt like the entire front end was shaking and making a metal on metal sound. It's been good the past 3 months, but still it bothered me for awhile.
