What's up with dealerships?

What's up with dealerships pricing their camaros so high to 50k+? Been looking for a SS with 1LE package since November all over the country. Also with the 16's coming out in a few months here don't you think they'd be wanting to sell them and get rid of the price they're paying for them to sit at their dealership? Just my opinion. If you know anyone that's good and willing to give a good price, please let me know. Thanks.

Who knows if a 1LE will even be offered in 2016 . What kind of Camaro are you seeing at 50K? What is a dealership adding to the cars?

It's Spring, seller's market (but only for now/a short time, as you explain). Be patient, fire sale is impending.

Major holidays, and year end. Just as it always has been, always will be, as long as the media continues to report on monthly/yearly sales numbers, and as long as those metrics are still important to shareholders.

Dealers are taking advantage of the spring market for performance cars, and people who may not be excited for the new generation Camaro.

Don't know why a dealership would do a new car like that. I would think dealer mark up would be over priced.

Wait for the Memorial Day sales, the 2016 will be out and this should help you get a deal on a 5th gen.

Give it about 3 weeks, and you'll see the "everything must go" sales start up, especially for 5th gen Camaros

That camaro U posted the website to is a dealer markup, price reflects an inflated body wrap and matching color trim, in addition to a premium mark up for z28 wheels. Don’t Buy!!!!! Overpriced, for that price I’d be looking into a ZL1. Dealer is

They seem to hesitate as much as they can about lowering prices on something that has been there a long time, it wasn't until the 15 models were out when I was able to get a great deal on my 2013 Hot Wheels Edition. Another dealer had one at the same time and would NOT come down where I wanted him to be. I believe that car went to an auction. Makes no sense.

When I was in the market for my Camaro, I wanted a 1LE something fierce. I, however, didn't want to pay the outrageous prices I had seen for them. I come to realize that virtually all the 1LE cars I had seen on the lots, were all 2SS cars or highly optioned out. When I inquired (at the time) about ordering one, they were on an order hold. I told them I wanted a 1SS/1LE - period. No options, no BS. Well, no dice for me. None of the dealers in the area could either order one, or locate one like that.

I'd wager to say, the prices you've seen on these 1LE models, are actually because of the 2SS package and options thrown on.

I was looking for a 1LE as well. On paper, the $3500 package is a great deal for what you get. However, the two dealerships that I found that had a 1SS 1LE were selling them at MSRP (no dealer discount). I got my 1SS with a combined $6500 off MSRP (dealer discount and GM cash back) so in reality, the 1LE is a $10k option.
