19 isn't bad. I get 20-22 combined driving. but to no, there isn't that big a difference between the V8 and V6. even GM only rates it 4mpg lower city, and 6 mpg lower highway.

I recently did a trip to Las Vegas and back to Phoenix, mostly setting the cruise control at 67, three 20 mile freeway stretches at 75 and some driving like crazy on the freeway in Vegas. Got 30.5 on the way there, whole trip I got 29.5, but I was n/a (belt broke and I had to bypass my s/c with the stock belt and drive 180 miles that way) most of the way home. A/C was on part of the way both directions. John B.

22000+ miles now and last state to state trip of 1100 miles I got 24.8 mpg @ 75-80 using Shell 91. I drive steady using cruise and don't screw around. Stock. "If you play you must pay"

my 2010 2LT RS manual got between 20.5 and 26.76 mpg (avg over a complete tank) in mixed driving.
stretches of freeway i was seeing periods of 30 mpg. i found my car got slightly better mileage with super, and doing the calculations of miles per dollar (MP$) came out almost identical to running regular. i chose to run super for the slight increase in performance. i didn't always drive like an old lady either, granted i typically drove with mileage in mind, so i could warrant driving it hard on occasion!! i have a lot of experience driving electric cars, and have adopted many ways to conserve momentum.

That's what I get on a regular day! I do mostly city driving and the start and stop does not play well with your car's mpg. On a highway though I get 28 mpg. drove 500 miles in one direction into Wisconsin and voala great mpg, however, going to work and back it is pretty bad.

My SS with Kooks Headers, Magnaflow 3" cat-back and CAI averages 18-22 mpg on my daily commute which is 5 miles of city driving and 16 miles of freeway in rush hour traffic. Once, after a fill-up I made the commute driving moderately, but not old-lady like. About 4 miles before the end of my commute I checked my mileage and it was 30.3 avg mpg! Once I averaged 28 mpg on a trip to Idaho, and averaged 25+ on a trip to Disneyland and back. That trip had stormy weather, strong cross winds, rain and 50 miles of 1st gear stop-and-go California freeway congestion. Probably averaged 75-80 mph on I-15 AC on and off.
These cars are capable of great economy if you're not blowing off Mustangs all the time. When I drive it like I stole it I still get over 18 mpg, never got worse than 17 mpg.

Is there any difference between what the computer says and if you hand calculate?
