grill ortho retainer
Does anyone else dislike the chrome strip in the grill of the c7's? I just finished using plastidip(black) after careful prep and it looks great. I have a black Z51/2LT with red interior and the chrome strip looked like junk to me. Hey, if the Z06 didn't need it, neither does the rest. Also, the plastidip resists chipping and can be easily removed if needed in the future.

Becky,
You have impeccable taste! I had the ugly strip done in Carbon Flash too.

I'm with ya'll, they shouldn't have put the chrome stripe in the grill......one of the guys in our club already went and got the Z06 grill and replaced it, look great.

I chose the plastidip because its satin black actually made the ortho reatainer strip actually DISAPPEAR! I felt the carbon flash would be glossy and just different enough to stand out again. Thats why I did not choose gloss black either. Differnt strokes...

There are three ways to do this. I have done all three:
Easiest: vinyl strips in any color from vettefx.com....this is my preferred way....strip stays on car Harder but still easy: plastidip.....see how at dipyourcar.com ....strip stays on car Hardest: true car paint and clearcoat.....but stones will chip this, and strip must come off car to do it right
