I agree with Phenixdragon its all about the road courses. 1320 is what everyone used to worry about. Now its showing off your cornering and driving skills at a road course.

I did a lot of drag racing over the past couple of years when I got my first Camaro. Once I did my first autocross / non quarter mile race, I haven't been back to the drag strip since.

My bone stock ABM gets fairly consistent 4.5s (manual).

Do a lot of people drive stoplight to stoplight from 0-60? We don't have any streets around here with limits >45. And who enters a highway from a stop?

Every time I try to enter a highway and some dolt in front of me actually STOPS at the end of the entrance ramp, I care a LOT about 0-60. And believe me, they like to stop there a LOT

I got 4.18 just the other day in my 2SS. All I have on it right now is some Carbon fiber and full exhaust with the Diablo Sport 93 Octane tune. It was with Continental's Extreme Contact all around on stock rims around 60 Degrees. I even took a picture afterwards.

I also noticed a huge improvement after I got 1500 or so miles on my car. Gotta break'em in. I've got 18,000 on it now. Anyway, I would think a Camaro SS should be able to achieve this once it's broken in.
Pretty good time for charger. You're gonna wish you had a hellcat though. Suppossedly able to go 0 - 60 in 2 seconds. WOW. My dream would be that Z06, amazing.

I totally agree. I have this round about by my house and when I come around it I need to get over three lanes of expressway to make a right in 2 blocks. Unfortunately for me my car is a 5.9 second 0 - 60 car but I thank God every time I make it across a little faster thanks to my car's mods. I can shave a second or two off that 5.9, which is a good thing. Especially when someone plugs up the entrance to the highway and leaves you in a dangerous position trying to get on with little room left.

The article states 2.9 seconds (which is still hard to believe), not 2 seconds.

If a car made it down the quarter mile in 7.89 seconds is it not know as a 7 second car? In my world it is, same as "less than 3 seconds" is 2 seconds.

Sure I agree anything in the 10s is a 10 second car in the 1/4, but I tend to not use the same thumbrule for 0-60 times. Most people would agree that the same rule doesn't apply for 0-60 times. 0-60 in 2 flat is just ludicrous.

L99 SS

Hi Everybody.
I am new here but I tested my 2012 SS just for fun with Trinity Diablo Sport tool.
I have all stock (except K&N performance air filter and DS 91 Octane tune). Below is what I got.
I did it a try with just auto (D) mode (mean I didn't use paddle shifters and S mode), TSC on, tires pressure 35 PSI.
Not bad but I feel like I can do better.
Please keep sharing your own experience!
