2012 V6 Camry -- 0-60 5.9 sec; 1/4th mile 14.4 sec (http://www.autorooster.com/0-60-times/toyota/camry/) vs 2012 V6 Camaro -- 0-60 5.8 sec; 1/4th mile 14.2 sec. (http://www.autorooster.com/0-60-times/chevrolet/camaro/) Which cost more? Which would you rather be seen in?

Hood up ... at a car show. Walker-by asks, "What size V-8 is that?". Um .... 2LT.

The Camaro is also RWD and comes in stick, so comparing it to a FWD auto-only car is a little strange.
Then there's of course the 60 more HP, top speed limiter set 30 mph higher, theoretical top speed ~30 mph higher, markedly better braking distance, way more gs laterally etc. Just because a V6 camry runs a 0-60 within a couple tenths of a V6 Camaro does not mean that the camry can hold a candle to the Camaro as a car. It is and will always be a boring commuter for either people who don't care about cars or people who have another car to care about and need a A to B vehicle in the meantime. |

I was at a cruise in one time with my 2010 and a guy walks up looks at the car and sees my 1LT emblems and says, "Wow those 1LT 350s were bad ass engines, I'm glad to see they are still using them in the new Camaro."

I saw an old pickup at Daytona Turkey run last year that had a 5 hp briggs under the hood.
Then you walk around the truck and it has a blown big block in the bed.

I recall a time I had a v8 engine and didnt feel the need to rag on a car with a lesser engine..
Never made sense, still doesnt.. guess some people have those issues though.. which I'm sure didnt start with engines.

Reminds me of the lady with a VW bug. She opens the hood and starts screaming "Someone stole my engine!" A guy drives by, also in a VW bug, and stops to help. "Don't worry", he says. "I have a spare in my trunk!"

I miss the days of full serve gas stations. I would ask the attendant to check the radiator in a VW bug. They would spend forever looking for it.

My god I hate those damn VW bugs, but damn it are they awesome. My uncle owns an old school one just sitting in his garage waiting for a wiring harness with some sort of marble purple color he had just recently changed it to. It was restored from the ground up, the intention WAS marble blue... but I guess a wrong paint #? Haha who knows, he just shrugged and said "Okay it's purple now I guess." |
