Hmmm, I think on android I have to change my settings on the phone to become a Mass Storage device which allows for music. Personally I just put a 16GB microSD in the unit with all my music.

Are they stored as mp3 files on the iphone or as an iTune. At one time I downloaded rocketfish from the playstore, but went back to the stock playerpro. When it is connected does it recognize the phone at all, are you able to find files using the ES File Explorer?

Just some ideas. My brother has a iPhone I will see him this weekend. I'll mess with it then and see if I can find a way

Anyone use Spotify on this unit? Would be great to see the Android version of it running on it.

I have an iPhone as well and had the same questions on how well it works.. Does it still take a while to load up when you start your car?

Earlier in the thread somebody posted a video showing the startup. IIRC, it took about 30 seconds, but music started playing almost immediately upon startup.

Can anybody who owns one of these tell me how many USB ports it has?

Thank you. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to get the external HD. Two ports means I might.

You can try a USB splitter also, it was hit and miss with detecting things. Maybe a powered USB port would be better?

Hey Luis did you have to shave down the unit in order for it to fit as well?

Well, I found this thread 2 days ago and have finally read through it in its entirety. It seems that only about 7 or 8 people have even went for it since Nov 2013 (or at least posted about it). It looks like one has even removed it based on his/her signature saying they have MyLink. Enough people have at least bought it to know the site is not scam and the Western Union payment works, and shipment is pretty quick.

I'm all for gadgets and toys, and this really looks like a nice replacement for MyLink. I have the MyLink system (non-nav), but find it lacking in not only features, but customization. I have a 2013 2LT/RS with HUD, BA sound system, rear avoidance sensors, backup camera, and gauges (although I didn't want the gauges - I want to just get the storage tray). I also have an iPhone 4S with about 1,000 songs on it that I currently plug into the USB console port for charging/playback. I'm not a big music audiophile, so if this unit keeps the sound about the same or a little better, then I'm happy. The Android unit would be a nice fit for my geeky-ness. Being a computer tech for 30+ years, I can deal with any of the remaining issues (microphone idiosyncrasies mainly it seems). I plan on taking the MyLink from my vehicle and putting it into my wife's 2LS with the stock radio so I can add the USB console port and a backup camera for her. She's not a techie so I would not put the Android unit in her car.

So I sent an email to HiCES website requesting the quote and see if he has the hi-res screen with 1GB (or larger) version with 4.0.3. I will probably get the DVR recording option, OBD and BT module, and 3G modem (not sure if I'll get a service now, but would like to have the option later). I will get the cameras from ebay that were listed in this thread, and also get the Jensen USB Interface with 1/8" Auxiliary Input Jack for my car and move my console USB port to her car.

It may not be till the end of the month when I get it, and probably install it early Sept, but I will do a full install video, and features video. Thanks to those who posted pics and videos already!

An issue I have that nobody's posted yet is that my radio signal is extremely weak.

I don't remember (and don't want to go back and read the entire thread, so maybe this is a dumb question. Does the unit come with an adapter to connect the factory antennas, or does it already have the correct plugs? Is it possible that the antenna connection came a bit loose during installation?

I really don't care about radio as I don't listen to radio. Just trying to help.
