1LE Captain, Simply amazing job, clean and done right. Would a JL W3 work with that amp you used? Once again great job and thanks for posting pics and links to products

Probably 30 sq ft should do it.

I don't think 300 watts is enough for the W3, closer to 500 is what they recommend.

I keep the stock Mylink head unit.

I get a very faint pop after I shut the car off. Nothing offensive.

I think I need to do this again following ur ideas. I did do the trunk already with fatmat. Need to redo the rear deck and doors. Cuz I have vibration of probably the adapters in the rear deck from my bass.. The double sided tape sounds like a great idea but probably a pain to remove later.. What about one sided tape? Would it be the same? Why paint the adapters?

Write up of my amp, speaker and sub upgrade. Pics included.

I have zero vibration/rattle & zero "sound deading matts" call me lucky

Single sided tape should work as well, I had double sided on hand so I used that.

I painted the adapters to seal out any moisture that might accumulate in the wood.

Ok I guess I can do that too. Will work on this maybe this wknd. Well see. Weird thing is that vibration or rattle mainly comes on when the temp outside is warm or hot.

I had to use some dynamat once I replaced the rear deck speakers.

It's best to place dynamat all around the openings where the 6x9's go, otherwise the metal openings will rattle against the wood adapters from ********. I also placed some underneath the openings of the 6x9's just to be sure.

If you leave stock speakers, no need to dynamat much if at all.
I don't rattle or anything much at this point. Super high volume, I do get a little but that's at "pain" level volumes that I rarely crank up to.
