Gold 2014 C7?
About two weeks ago I was driving down the road and I could have sworn I saw a Gold C7 shooting past me in the opposite direction. I wasn't aware Gold was a factory color. But without a picture it would be just another "Big Foot sighting".
Then this evening as I was parking at Home Depot... Guess what I found. The finish wasn't gloss or flat, but matte. At first close examination I was thinking Plasti-dipped, but it had so much grime from driving in the recent rain I just couldn't tell. Out of respect I didn't touch it. That's very interesting. Gold is not a factory color so they either plasti dipped it or just gave it a gold paint job. It looks like it's plasti dipped to me but I could be wrong. I'm personally not a fan but of the color but at least it's unique.
Thanks for sharing!!

Looks great...probably a wrap job.

Agree, I also think it's a vinyl wrap. Looks unique and definitely will stand apart from other C7's.

It's a full body wrap.
The shop that did my XPEL & Tint recently did one in matte black.

Based on a conversation with Ryan Vaughn at the Bash last week, its very unlikely there ever will be a factory gold painted Corvette in the future. They had so much trouble with the 15 or so Aztec Gold C5s in 1998 getting body panels to match that they pretty much swore off gold. Wrap or Plasti-dip or custom paint are the only ways to get it.
Can't say I'm a fan, either.

I agree with the others, it is most likely a wrap. Here is another gold wrap.

I like that one a lot better. The gold wrap on the C7 is just a little too bland in my opinion.

I see that gold C7 is parked in a handicap zone, so I'm guessing the owner is visually handicapped?

I have been seeing a lot of wrapped high performance cars in down town walnut creek lately. The rich folk seem to enjoy it.
