Parallel Parking
So I'm in the process of getting a camaro and I tried parallel parking during a test drive, (i live in nyc so i need to) it was the by far the hardest thing ever. How do you guys do it without backup cam..

You just get used to. My main concerned while parking is not to scratch my rims.

Without my backup sensors, yeah I would probably fail big time.

I have a backup camera but where I live there is no need to parallel park hardly anywhere unless I go to Houston, Austin, or Dallas or some other town. I don't think I have ever had to parallel park except for like one time... Oh Well. best of luck to you!

lol, pretty soon were going to be seeing "how do you do it without the parallel park assist system"
J/K just takes practice like any other car. You'll eventually just know where the parts of the car are. Use your side mirrors to help with avoiding the curb rash. |

Even with the cam, the worst enemy is the front of the car. No real way to get used to it without simply getting used to the car. Chicago gives me plenty of practice and I can generally do it now without looking at the cam but it's a timing game. You can try adjusting the mirror down on the sidewalk side, then use your other mirror and the rear to glide it in. As for the front, practice at an empty parking space with double spaces. Use the line as your "end" and practice parking forward front. You naturally get an instinct of when the car has gone too far forward.
That or you can go balls to the wall and practice parallel parking right as you're parallel parking. Be wary of curb rash and you know, hitting the other cars. |

I haven't graduated from driveway and parking lot parking so I'll just keep it moving till I find a better spot.

I will not even attempt to parallel park my Camaro. I couldn't even parallel park in my Honda, I won't even try in the Camaro. -__-
