Boston Acoustic 9 spkr or not?
Guys with this audio option in their 13-14's, how is it? How are the lows? Are the mids and highs clean? Trying to decide if this option is worth it or not.

I have an '11, and opted for the Boston system. Only option I got besides a sunroof and I love it. Sound is full across the range.
For the price, I couldn't have done a better system for 3 times the price. More money for go-fast parts.

Horrible Bass, Incredible Mids and Highs.... Comes standard on 2LT if your looking to add as a stand alone option, I would say pass...get the stock system add a Sub and Amp, your all set $495 is a bit steep

If you go with the Boston system in the car, upgrading to aftermarket components is much easier via the FARK system from ********.
If you go with the basic system, it will not be very good and it will need to be cut up in order to upgrade. I don't know if there are folks still making upgrade harnesses for the basic system. I've now upgraded amp, installed a subwoofer system with a second amp, 12" subwoofer (kicker) from ********, and upgraded all the speakers in the car to JL Audio C2 650 components in the doors and C2 690 in the back. The system really sounds great now.

I just put in a little help with sub, amp and harnesses from ******** and have been very happy. For a little extra work, the results are worth it.

My thought has always been, either your a big audio person or your not. If you a big audio person then the BA system won't be good enough for you. If you are not a big audio person then the standard system is going to sound good enough for you. Anyway, that is just my opinion, and we know what those are worth.

I already have a Kicker ZX1500.1 amp, Ive thought about getting the harness from ******** and getting a couple 10" Kicker L7 subs, then replacing the rest of the speakers with Kicker

I'm ordering a 2SS convertible which comes standard with the BA system. I'm going to assume it is totally inadequate with the top down. School me on the upgrades and cost necessay to have a kickass system with the top down.

it depends on 1) do you like how the BA system sounds? if you do then it is worth it. 2) do you plan on upgrading it later? if you do then having the wiring already half done is a money saver if you plan on having someone do the install for you. 3) if you don't mind installing your own then you can probably get by with out having it. this is my opinion of course. I had a non BA 1LT and now a 2SS with the BA. the ba is louder than the stock but not all that clear at higher volumes. I upgraded the non BA system and when I went to the BA 2SS I was a little disappointed to be honest. while it is louder with more speakers it could be a lot better IMO so to answer the question, I think it is worth it, saves a little labor down the road.

I have an 2013 SS with the Boston Sound System. Sounds OK, but like the sound of the BOSE that came stock in my 2003 Chevy PU better. Why they moved from BOSE to Boston is beyond me.
