How much was it to purchase this as a part and how much did the dealer charge for the installation?

Got mine last November... due to the holidays I finally was able to schedule a tech at a local dealership to have it installed 2 weeks ago. No extra fees neither, just a nice tip for the tech and absolutely no fitment issues, rattles, bs, etc... discounted cost for the cf dash was $491 plus tax and obviously the gratuitous tip for the tech. For me, it helped that I knew the Mgr...

Talk to your service advisor and see if they can help out in any way... may be a negotiated cost to install (at least 2 hours but no more than 3 for an experienced interior tech).

For those who like the carbon fiber look, why not get the regular dash (which I think looks just fine) and have it hydro dipped for a carbon fiber finish. It looks 100% real and will save you $500-1000. Granted, your car will be heavier because your wallet will have more money in it. But you'll have money for next month's car payment.
