Hey old timers what were you driving in 1973?
For anyone that was old enough to have a drivers license and was driving a motorized vehicle ( car, truck, motorcycle, etc) 40 years ago (1973) what was it?
For the first 9 months I drove a 1971 Vega Hatcback. For the rest of the year a 1974 Camaro Sports Coupe. No more baby buggys, bicycles, Tricycles or other pedal or push powered vehicles please...

I had a '76 Vega Turkeyback Sedan in that robins egg blue color. The doors/roof was taller than a hatchback and it had an actual trunk. 3-speed on the floor and a 2.56 rear gear so it would just FLY on the highway. Previous owner had all of the typical Vega "quirks" fixed so it was a pretty good package by that time. These cars were designed unlike any other vehicle on the road. It rusted out real bad after a bunch of harsh WNY winters but it allways fired right up instantly. It was sad to see it go to the bone yard.

1959 Chevrolet Bel Air
One of these in white over red. Sorry for not finding a real picture of the car (I have one some where). It had a 283 with auto trans. I eventually swapped out the auto for a manual three speed and souped up the motor. The rest of the drive train would not take the power. I changed out several rear ends. My parents gave it to me for high school graduation. They bought it new for a little over $2000.00. Those were the days. Pretty sure my first child was conceived in that car.

In 1973 I was driving a new Pontiac Grand Am with a hydra 400 trans, 455cu in, real duel exhaust, saftey track rear axle, and rubber nose. This was the first year for radial tires and radial tuned suspension. I originally ordered it with a 455SD (Super Duty) however the factory replied and said the SD was only available in the Trans Am. Had over 200K miles on it. Leather, bucket seats, and a very comfortable ride. I've owned some great cars.
