Picked up my 1LE!!

Here are some photos of my 1LE at two car shows on Saturday. The second car show, Scott Settlemire joined us and I was lucky enough to have the car signed by him.





















(I know the front splitter is not on there, long story but it will be there soon.)

Thanks! I love the BRM color on this car, the color changes depending on the light draw a lot of attention from people.

It is still sitting at the dealership. The front bumper was damaged coming off the rail car in Phoenix so it needs to be replaced. The dealership called me as soon as the car arrived on the lot and told me about it which impressed me more than anything. They ordered a new bumper and should take about 10 days to get here and then needs to be painted.

They didn't want to put the splitter on because they feared it would add too much weight to the front and cause more damage to the already fragile bumper. Other than a small gouge on the bumper and a small spot where it doesn't line up quite right with the left fender you could never tell there was damage to it.

I was shocked they called me before they even took the car off their trailer the sent down to pick the car up to tell me it was damaged. Most dealers would just cover that up and never say anything to the customer.

oh wow..thats cool because the splitter changes the whole car..they look awesome with them...congrats, the car is really nice man...keep it clean and take care of it....

Yeah, it will have the splitter on it again as soon as it gets repaired. The first thing I asked on Friday when I went to go pick it up was where my splitter was because it wasn't on the car and that makes the whole car complete. I will post up more pics once it is back from the doctor.

You seem pretty cool about the front end, I'm sure the dealer appreciates that. If that was the car I ordered I'm not so sure I would accept the car. I would look that nose over after painting with a fine tooth comb and still be worried that the paint may peel off if not painted properly. It may look good the day you pick it up but show imperfections 30days later. Dealer painted my wife's front end of her 95 Camaro only to see it start peeling off 9months later. After I know a car has had some work it's typically not the same in my heart. Beautiful car, I'm really liking what Chevy did for 2014. I wish you nothing but luck and happiness with you new baby.

I asked to have the bumper done by an outside shop that I trust in the town they are in. Plus once the paint is completely set it is getting a clear bra. I can't be mad at the dealer, it wasn't their fault and they were so up front and honest about it that I couldn't be mad. The shop it is going does incredible work so I know it will come out as good if not better than the factory. Plus it is only a piece of plastic so it will never perfectly match the metal on the car anyway. If it was a metal panel then this would be a totally different conversation with the dealership.
