Entirely dipped v6

I decided to plastidip my entire car flat black. Tell me what you guys think! I did it with a dipyourcar.com package that included a professional grade sprayer and four gallons of paint. Ended up using only about 3 1/2 gallons though.

That last pic is at a recent car show on the University of Maine campus. It was set up by a sorority on campus and I won 3rd place in the camaro/firebird category (lost to a couple beautiful 1st gens, to be honest I doubt I even deserved 3rd )

But the big trophy is for winning 1st in the 'sorority choice' category . I'm president of the Kappa Sigma chapter on campus, so I knew most of the girls. That trophy was kind of rigged

All the orange is also plastidip by the way. It is called firebelly orange and they sell it in gallons on dipyourcar.com. I dipped by front bowtie, side lettering, and added my name to the back in replace of the rear bowtie.

AFTER (sorry for the cellphone pic):

She's my daily driver, so I know I could have cleaned her up a little better in prep for the show, but just coming out of my dirt driveway usually leaves some marks :(

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the 4 gallons?? And did you do it yourself??

Thanks, man. It actually feels great to hear you say that. Most people have questioned my choice of orange, but I think the contrast between the two colors looks awesome. Not to mention they match my amber halos

Yep, did it all myself. My father is a contractor, and he has a bunch of makeshift shelters he uses to store lumber. I borrowed one off him and made myself a mini paint shop by the side of my crappy little college apartment.
I purchased a pro car kit from dipyourcar.com. The site says it costs $356, but when I bought it they had a 50% off sale for memorial day. So I grabbed it for an absolute steal.
Pretty cheap in all, it took me about 2 days actually prepping and spraying the car and only 3 1/2 gallons of the 4 I ordered in the pro car kit.

You did a great job. Looking at the trophy pic really fast you might even confuse it for cyber gray metallic.

The entire car has about 4 coats. Thick enough to peel off relatively easily once I want to. I tried spraying my car with a bunch of rattle cans a few years ago and was pretty disheartened at the way it came out. I used up 10 cans of dip, but it was still a bit too thin. Had to use a pressure washer to remove it all. But even though it looked a bit textured and not at all professional I kept it on for about 7 months. Even after all that time, it held up beautifully. Some minor scratches but the dip didn't fade or start peeling at all. And that was as a daily driver through a Maine winter! I'm convinced that if it can handle something like that and still keep strong, it can take just about anything.
