Here's a stock tune as an example of how it's limited vs rpm.

I don't want to come off as being rude with this question but I just wanted to ask. To the admin that moved my post. Why did my general question post get moved deep into "Dragstrip, Tracking, Autocrossing, Driving Techniques Discussions Performance driving discussions"? My question has nothing to do with tracking the car or driving techniques. It just had to do with what should have been a general question. it seems like every other post I write gets moved deep into this forum and dies. Again I'm not trying to come off as being rude but I was just wondering why this keeps happening.

What exactly are the numbers meaning? May sound stupid, but is it saying that at 3000rpm it limits it to 280 ft lbs?

That's what it means. That's the engine torque management. Well, part of it.

Yep, just part of the TqMgmt, but it is the Tq (ft/lb) limit table vs. RPM. Just found the thread again. lol.

I know I had to check the posts under my name this morning to find it again. How does the car limit the TQ after 3k RPM's? Also why would Chevy tune down the car from the factory? I hear some saying that the car should wake up after 1500 miles.

Manufactures de-tune cars to make them safer and last "longer". Plus the goal for a car manufactor is to make the car hook and go. Makes it faster that way. They dont want to make it so the tires just spin as that is not good for anyone going WOT.

I had the same feeling as you when i first got my car 4 years ago. I had an 05 gto that i could just stomp on the throttle and light em up at will. But those pirellis are some soft sticky tires.

But you will notice a difference after your tune. Yes you dont pick up that much HP from a simple tune. But it allows the HP to act more freely.
