Well, i did the ACS TL1 insert on the stock hood. Sadly, this kit does not work well with a Whipple. There's just no clearance at all.
Take a look.

I can not put on the ZL1 or the TL1 water tray. The ACS tray has more clearance than the ZL1 and it hits the ROTO FAB elbow.

So, the question at hand is... will the ZL1 hood work? Or is it the same height as the stock SS hood?

Zl1 hood is taller but only slightly

I have a whipple and ROTO FAB. just got my insert today far zl1 hood and no it don't fit. hits the ROTO FAB intake.

my Acs zl1 insert getting painted to day and it fits with no rubbing. just the water tray wont fit with roto fab

Is there a lowering kit for the engine available for the ZL1 like the GT500's have? Nice to be able to use the stock hood. If not.. its looking like Turbos will have the advantage in this area.

I'm interested in how close the belt is to the insert.. As you can see, mine is rubbing.. Not when it is sitting or running.. but when you give the car gas and the the motor torques. That is when it will rub.

Zl1 hood it clears the whipple fine with out water drain. It sits past the belt

I see. so you have the ZL1 hood with the insert.. not the SS hood with the insert. ??
