I understand affordability is all relative, but I'm surprised so many of you believe that a 55-65,000 dollar "luxury" car is affordable.
First understand I'm saying luxury in the sense that it's strictly a "toy" that nobody needs to own. I'd imagine that most people can't afford to spend 60,000 on a second, third, or even fourth car. Sure there are individuals who later in life can afford it, and even those that are fortunate to have a good job at a young age, but I think those instances are the exception.

that is a used private owned car, of course it would be 51k, not like anyone is going to pay him 55k for a used car.

Good for you.....smart money is not impulsive. It waits for value. .....And at that point you'll still have 3 years of powertrain warranty left....and 90% of these cars will be low mileage cars. Folks can disagree with depreciation, but that doesn't stop it from occuring. The depreciation is a fact.....the rate is a variable. From what I've seen so far the rates are high, higher than even the CTS-Vs. Only time will tell. Ebay is a good source to monitor the spot pricing which can be used to compute the rate. |

$75,000 is a crazy amount of money on this ride, but to each his own and that's why I hope they keep making more and more of these ZL1s because the more they make the more affordable they will become in a year or 2, especially when the 6th Gen Camaro arrives and folks jump on that bandwagon next....
I really hope Chevy/GM floods the market with these Camaro ZL1s so they do become super affordable, it will be sad for those that paid MSRP/Full price or the increased Market Adjustment value but I would like to see the ZL1 with reasonable amount of miles run in the Low $40,000 range in about 16-18 months.. Time will tell... |

Hopefully at 27 you realize what the payments are going to run you, considering it is a $55,000+ Camaro, not counting any trade in or down payment, or interest rates..
$55,000/60 months is about $920 a month, if you can swing that amount good for you... |

...ZL1 and affordable, in a general sense of terms widely used in the english language that equates a bargain deal below face value...will not be synonymous for sometime. The car will retail value for a long time.

Yes that is where the value will shine because of the limited run. of course less those that have been damaged and totaled thus far, and as the years progress, I'm sure that number will dwindle down even further making them more valuable.

That is why i hope GM/Chevy make so many of the Camaro ZL1s that folks get tired of seeing them on the road, thus making them very very affordable as a Pre-owned vehicle....
