You are probably going to want to at least change the rear end (if you are still running the stock 10 bolt back there). They have known to break pretty quickly if you add even just a few HP over the stock LS1 and I would say is the weakest link in the powertrain. If you get that monster from ADM it will very likely grenade the rear. Moser 12 bolt or Ford 9" are pretty popular, or you can try to beef up the stock rear, but it is not recommended (see the link below).
There is some good info at LS1Tech.com in the Gears/Axles section. Here is a thread that relates to what I'm talking about: http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/gears-...olt-break.html. Hope this helps! Oh, and if you have a manual I'd recommend a better clutch. (also discussed in detail at ls1tech). |

GMHTP just did an LS3 swap into an '01. It was a great article and straight forward. I think they mostly swapped oil pans/pickups, water pumps, exhaust manifolds, throttle bodies, and added fuel injector adapters and knock sensor extensions. It was a great write-up. They installed a 480 horse' LS3 and it put down 430+ RWHP through an S60 with 3.73s, if I remember right.

GMHTP is GM High Tech Performance magazine.
I'd recommend the aluminum driveshaft. CF is too brittle. If you're going to put more than 400 HP to the ground on an LS1 Camaro, I'd suggest that you budget for an upgraded clutch and 12-bolt rear end.

The stock driveshaft in an LS1 car is 3" aluminum. The driveshaft is probably fine but you might want to check the U-joints. Maybet he syncros are going in the tranny?
