Engine??

I few ?.s for u guys if u dont mind giving me some input. I just bought a 2011 Camaro 2SS 6 speed manual.... It has less than 100 miles now, but i noticed when i first start it up cold, and go for a spin it seems to bog 1st 2nd gear... kinda doggy. gets better as it heats up. but jese... Im not feeling the power i thought it had for 426HP i know it like 100deg out..... i havnt refueled for gas yet and not sure what the dealer filled up with. also do these motors usually have some tic to them? what light mods would really wake it up some without me really modifying drastically.

Give this article on our blog a look. You are probably running on the low octane map. "Tic" is not uncommon in LS engines and is nothing to worry about as long as it isn't excessive. Intake and exhaust are the usual first mods but it all depends on how you use your car and your budget.

ok. thanks for the info... I will try some 93 octane and the fuse pull like i seen mentioned.
Does an intake really make a diference?

Run at least three full tanks of 93 or 94 octane through it, run the low octane almost completely out 1st. Then over night fuse pull. Don't just disconect battery, won't work, do the fuse pull (both of them), 5 and 20 I believe, overnight, just before you're ready for the 4th tank of high octane. You'll love her, she' a beast!

Yes battery pull DOES NOT WORK ON ECM. There is a battery backup in line to hold the ECM power between the battery and fuse box.

FUSE PULL WORKS.

Yes, do as other say with several tanks of 93 then fuse pull. I will say though that these cars are geared for top end. This has been my biggest complaint. A tune and/or gears will get you the results you are looking for.....or so I was told.

Sure sounds like bad gas. Run it down low and take it easy on it until you get the fuel out. Then fill it up with the good stuff, drive it for a bit to get it into the fuel system, and do the fuse pull.

I got an intake and it really woke it up. Some others to consider are a ported throttle body for improved throttle response and a solo or jba downpipe if you don't want to do full headers and a tune. But the biggest restriction is in the cats and headers will give the best results, the downpipe is a close second. Any catback exhaust is just for sound and weight savings but won't give you power.

Running good fuel through first is an important point. If lower octane fuel spoils your mix then the fuse pull is pointless. run the tank low before refueling. How much it takes, I don't know. Three tanks sounds like more than enough.

My car is noticeably more responsive after it warms up to normal operating temps.

And it may also have been the dealer putting the cheaper stuff in as well.

My L99 acted a little sluggish and had a hard shift from like 2-3 and back after I picked it up and I did the fuse pull after two tanks of 93 through it and it feels much better in every way now.. As for your intake question, yes it does.. I put a cold air inductions cai in yesterday and unless something happens to it I won't ever go back to my stock air box. Noticeable power gains and the change in exhaust note at higher rpms is nice too.
