I'm not really a fan of the Transformers Edition Camaro.
I LOVED the first movie. I thought it was fun and cool as hell. It was one of my favourite movies and had some many cool things in it besides the Camaro. The second Transformers movie sucked. It sucked really bad. Wow did it suck. SUCKED!. Anyway, TF2 didn't turn me off to a Camaro, but it did turn me off from getting anything associated with the movie. Had they never made TF2, I would be proud to drive a TF-Camaro. But since TF2, my own personal perceived value of a TF2 Cammy is nill. -Mark. ps: I will however say that in the IMAX Version, the fight scene in the forest was jaw-dropping. It was the coolest 5 minutes of movie ever rendered to the true Imax format. That one scene was worth the $16 I paid. Everything else: Meh. |

Transformer Edition Camaro - how many are produced?
I just received my Transformer Edition camaro from the dealship (Shingle Springs Chevrolet/Cadillac) in Northern California on 3/11/10. Mine is a 2LT. Does anyone know how many are produced?
GM allowed the dealers to order the Transformer Edition from around 8/2009 through 1/2010. My guess is the last one produced have been delivered to a dealship. Yes, most dealers want to put a "market adjustment" on the special editions camaros. |

Tom Henry Edition is a car built by Tom Henry Chevrolet in Bakerstown, PA. He makes a Tom Henry Racing Edition in various performance packages. All the cars are numbered and are put in a registry. Tom Henry cars are noted in the Camaro White Book along with other special built Camaros. To date he has built I think 21 - 2010 camaros ranging up to a supercharged car with 580hp. I have been buying new cars for a long time (since 1971) . It was my best new car purchase experience. I flew to Pittsburg got the car and drove it back to New York - 480 miles. A very memorable trip.

For one spastic squirrel's listing is not accurate , My car has never shown up on it, plus it does not have a listing for the Transformers option.
Secondly those that quote 1500 TE Camaros is wrong (unless it was a really unlikely coincidence), The number of TE cars depended only on how many were ordered during the time frame to order the cars, they did not limit it to 1500. The same will go for the Synergy green Camaros. they will build as many as are ordered between the time ordering that option started and when it will end. In Conclusion, Unless you can contact Chevrolet (GM) directly and get the numbers, it will only be speculation for now how many are out there...

I contacted them a few times. They were not giving out the numbers. They said they will have the numbers after the production year ends. I still don't think there are too many. If there were 20 in every state that would be 1000. I still think the number is less than that. I'm only seen two of them in my area so far, and I drive around for a living.

I went to one dealer in Norfolk, VA (Colonial Chevrolet) and they had 4 on the lot at one time. The salesman told me they had bought up all the TF models from other dealers. Said that there were only 2,000 or so made. Dealer I bought mine from said there were 1,000. They don't know the exact numbers. Would have been great to see them sequentially numbered, but it is what it is.
Oh, I've only seen one other TF model on the road in the almost 4 months that I've had mine. |
