Sorry for the thread intrusion. Very cool Fred Gibb Story!

Just an FYI, Nickey Chicago is authorized and licenced by Helen Gibb to build Fred Gibb edition 5th Generation Camaros.

We have several underway.

Congrats on your new Berger SS, Junkie. If I wasn't retired and on a reduced income, I would have one just like it. I agree that the White w/black is the best color combo on these, but them I'm kinda partial ................. We have a 2002 Berger - Hot Rod Magazine Edition Camaro. They built 36 HRE's and this is the only white one. :-)

Berger has been our Club Sponsor (Western Michigan Camaro Club) for over 25 years. They are an awesome dealership. Matt Berger and his Dad, Dale, have been very good to our Club over all those years. Among our members, we have several of the different 4th Gen Berger Camaros (2000-2002) in the club (SS's, ZL-1's, HRE's), something like 14-15 of them.

Matt took me for a ride in the Yellow Berger SS prototype back in mid-August. You are going to love your car, it's amazingly fast! Our Club hosts the Berger Chevrolet All Chevy Show every year. You should plan to drive the car up to the show this year. The dates are August 27 & 28, 2010, right at the dealership here in Grand Rapids.

Here is a Club photo taken out front of Berger from '07 .......

The dealership has been remodeled with the latest Chevy Dealership look since that photo, and now looks like this ..........

Berger is only about 6 miles from my house, and I'm out there quite often. I usually spend a couple of hours talking to Matt & Dick each time I'm there. Of course, we buy all our daily drivers there as well.

Thanks, Junkie

Did Matt tell you about his latest 5th Gen?

Inferno Orange with quite a bit more than the "standard" Berger SS.

Hey Junkie,
Are these cars signed by Matt or anyone from Berger? And SLP got 575 hp out of their 6 speed cars w/charger and 550 out of their autos, is there a reason why Berger only got 550 hp? Also, I wanted to know what you thought about moving the "By Berger" emblem down into the tail pan like the 75th annv. cars? And, what numbers are left? Thanks!

Camaross,

As far as I know, there are not any plans for Matt Berger or anyone else at Berger to sign all of these cars. However, I'm sure Matt would be happy to sign any of them, if asked. The best time to have that done would be at the Annual Berger Chevrolet All Chevy Show. The dates this year are August 27 & 28, 2010.

That 550 HP number is a conservative number. These cars are all tuned to be 100% emissions legal. However, with some very minor changes (headers and a more aggressive tune) they make a lot more than that.

The "by Berger" emblem is on the left edge of the trunk lid to balance out with the SS emblem on the right side of the trunk lid. However, if you look at Berger's different 4th Gen editions (SS, Hot Rod Magazine, ZL-1, Dick Harrell) you would see that the "by Berger" was in different locations, depending on which edition you have.

The best person to tell you which numbers are left would be Dick Jacques at Berger. 616-293-1850 (his cell).

Hey, sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. These cars are not generally signed, but I asked Dick to get mine signed by the brothers. I think 550 is underestimated I have a CAI and etc going on as soon as it gets here, which will be next Tuesday. Oh yeah I dont plan on moving the emblem

Thanks guys, I talked to Dick yesterday for about an hour, he was very helpful. I was looking at the ZL575 form SLP, but after looking at the Berger and having a 2002 already I've decided to get one of the Berger's. I think the heritage is much stronger and will be more valuable in the future.
