1LE All-Season tire recommendations
New to the forum. I’m looking into the best tires to replace the OEM F1’s that are currently on the vehicle. I am not tracking the car, at least now. I don’t plan to drive in rain, unless caught out during a drive. I would, however, like to have a tire that allows it to be driven in cold temps without cracking. I do want a tire that will allow for aggressive, spirited driving on occasion.
I had thought I would just go with Michelin’s PS4S’, but then realized those would restrict me from driving in cold temps. Now, I’m back to the drawing board. Do any of you have experience with a good performance all-season, if such a tire exists? |

I recommend these as well. I even drove on them in the rain slightly spirited and they hooked for the most part. I was genuinely impressed. You’ll get what you pay for. I used cheaper all season tires on my last SS (non 1le) and they were just as loud and uncomfortable as the run flats. The dws06 improved ride quality versus the super car 3’s on my 1le. Can’t say enough good things about them.

+1 on the DWS06+. Bonus of a quieter, less jarring ride.

Smoother and quieter ride would be nice.
What’s the consensus on the PS4S tires and driving on them in 30 degree temps? Car is kept in an insulated garage, so they would never get below 45-50 degrees. Car is not a DD, so it would just be on occasion and conditions would be dry. I’m hesitant to buy all seasons for the little driving that would occur during colder temps, and possibly sacrifice performance in the warmer months. There wouldn’t be any ‘hot rodding’ in cold weather, just grandma driving. How much spirited driving will all seasons support in warmer conditions? Will they handle all the street driving you can throw at them? |

30 is pushing it somewhat, but if you leave from a heated garage, don't park the car on the street for several hours in these cold temps (letting your tires cool down below 32-33 degrees), and you can avoid salt/brine sprayed by obsessively rear end covering townships, you'll be fine. The car has snow/ice mode that makes the throttle pretty dull and limited, that's the mode I would use.

Who has the best price on the PS4S? I see they have different models of these, all in the size I need. Any particular compound I should go for? |

The difference isn't huge, however, only a few hardcore drivers complain about it, and I find the PS4S very responsive---it may not be the absolute best in steering communication, but this tradeoff resulted in better ride quality and less road noise. If, however, you want the sharpest possible 1LE street setup with Michelin tires, the PSS is worth considering. As to cost, Tire Rack typically has good prices, but honestly, apart from some sweet Costco promotions and (perhaps accidental) Walmart sales, every channel has practically the same prices, give or take 10-20 dollars per tire.

Does anyone have pics of their car with the Continental DWS06+? I think I’m between this and the PS4S.

I have the Continental DWS06+ on my 2017 Camaro 2SS on a set of 1LE wheels. Excellent tires and they do have a nice ride.
I will see to take a few pictures today of them on my car and post later. |
