Just got my first new car: 2023 1SS 1LE

I didn't see a welcome thread (or I'm blind). I saw others doing this so I guess here goes.

Got my first brand new car in August this year (just.. late to the forum)

It's a 2023 1SS 1LE, basically ordered to match the press photos (I thought it looked sharp). I got the 6 speed manual, PDR, and a couple other random options. She's put to bed for the year, but anxiously awaiting driving it again next spring!

to the forums, speedyink1. You got yourself a real beauty there, congratulations. Best wheels ever on a Camaro.

The one good thing about living up north with a sports car is that driving her the first time after each winter hibernation almost feels like getting a new car

Thanks! The wheels are so nice, I love it all. A very cohesive design all over the car that just looks great

(Also it's official, I'm blind!)

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! As a 1SS 1LE owner myself I can tell you that you picked an amazing car and the best bang for the buck in the Camaro lineup as far as I am concerned. Sorry the car has to go in hibernation, but you will enjoy it even more come spring.

Congrats, but the front end looks a little high with that big wheel gap - make sure there are no spring spacers in there. Dealers frequently forget to take them out.

Thanks everyone! ZPirate, what color did you get? I really do like this trim, just an overall good looking and driving package, and the price was right.
It'll be so nice, like driving it off the lot feeling again. It's gonna be a long winter, lol

Thanks for the heads up. I will be sure to get them to check into it. Is it something I could see if I get under the car?

Just look at the front springs above the front tires, if you see orange things in there they left the shipping spacers in and they should be removed... I agree, your front end looks high, I think it is likely your shipping spacers are in there...

No need to get under the car. Just lean over and look inside the front wheel well above the tire. You'll see the coil spring and you'll see them if they're there. If they are there, just jack up the front end to open up the springs and you can pull them out by hand.

Beautiful car and congratulations

I have driven the car a couple thousand kms, is that bad at all for anything?

It shouldn't be an issue if you go ahead and pull out the spacers. A dealership failing to remove them is unfortunately a fairly common mistake. Only 1LEs and ZL1s are shipped with the spacers. They are needed in order to protect the front lips during transport when loading and unloading the vehicle. You might want to let the dealership know that they missed removing the spacers during PDI in case of the unlikely event you do have an issue.

My 1LE is a 2022 and is Rapid Blue. Check out my Member Car Journal for more on my 1LE. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=607495

Congrats on the Camaro! Bigger congrats on living on Vancouver island. We went there for vacation this past summer as well as Garibaldi lake. You have some amazing wilderness in your backyard.
