No way I was going to pay 1 penny over MSRP for a mass produced vehicle sold by the thousands. That is also rewarding outright greed by these dealers, who let's face it, provide little to no value to car owners.

You can definitely find deals at MSRP if you are willing to look and maybe do a little bit of traveling. I would fly cross-country and drive back before I paid a dealer $5K-$10K for absolutely nothing. In the end, I found my 1LE 2 hours away from home and paid $1200 under MSRP.

Well it looks like another forum member here well be getting a new Camaro. I am hoping the rest of the transaction works out smoothly for you. All the best.

I'd travel across country, blah blah blah...airfare...$$$$. Lodging $$$. Food and Fuel $$$. At the shortest that's a two day round trip.

I spent thousands but I really shafted that dealer for $1200.

HAHAHAHA

So I passed up on the Riverside Blue LT1 last week after it had come to the dealers lot, just a bit to ‘flashy’ for me, after looking at it lol. Definitely more subdued in shady conditions then full sun.
And haven’t been able to locate any available LT1 in Shadow Gray so I moved to looking for a 1SS in the SG color, so I found one locally and that dealer is adding a $3 grand markup.
I made an offer of MSRP they declined saying the $3G was what they are looking for.
I’m thinking to go in at $1500 and see where that goes, also it’s been on their lot for a week.
That color is dwindling in stock, it just kills me to pay the greed fee and give in to them
but reality is there aren’t a lot to pick from and then there’s the price increase for ‘24 MY.

I’d appreciate your opinions and what you may have paid ‘over’ if any, I know ultimately it’s my decision but others experience with the purchase process helps.

I found a 2023 black 2ss 1le that was previously spoken for but the deal fell through located 500 miles from home. Paid msrp plus $800 paint / interior seal. The dealer discounted $500 military and $750 Camaro discount. Basically msrp minus $450 plus the required fees. I was on a waitlist for 2024 allocation but bailed on that when considering the increased 2024 cost and SG unavailability. Would have preferred SG but black was my second color preference.

Vehicle was located through chevy inventory search. Many vehicles that I was interested in were in-transit and pre-sold. I made sure that I left my contact info with dealers in case any deals went sour. Patience is key when looking for a 2023....worked for me and I saved thousands over a 2024.

Hey congrats, how’d you make the pickup, drive out n back or delivered to your location?
One dealer I talked to in the Midwest would do the remote sale but then the transport cost was expensive, flying & driving back had its costs and logistic issues too, that’s obviously why I’m trying to stay local either way there’s a price to pay

Thanks. Completed transaction with dealer over phone, express mail and online. Delivery costs were anywhere from $600-$1300. Not much fun in that so decided to make a road trip. Took some time off work, rented a car drove out, turned in rental and drove new car home.

Congratulations! With more than 3,800 ‘23s still showing in the Camaro Inventory (although who knows how many really are not sold), your story proves that with a little perseverance, there are still deals to be made.

Thousands? LOL. You wanna give a greedy dealer an extra $5K-$10K for absolutely nothing, that's your choice. Cause that is what many dealers are asking over sticker for a Camaro, especially a ZL1.

There were cars within 500-1000 miles of me with ZERO dealer markup of any kind. I could have spent under $1K easy to go and get one. I could fly cross-country and drive back for under $2500. I could pay a transporter/shipping company $2500-$3000 and still come out way ahead. Still a lot less than $10K. If you are too lazy to do that, then spend the extra $5K-$10K at your wonderful dealer. They appreciate your business.

This. I just did the fly and drive method. Used reward points to fly from CO to SC for free, used reward points to stay in a hotel for free on the way back, and ate cheap. Gas mileage was higher than expected, averaging 28 miles per gallon - I think in all it cost me $250-$300 to get the car, and I got the car for $850 below MSRP in addition to $1250 in incentives.

What dealer in S.C. did you buy from? I know there are some honest dealers here and some not. Glad to hear you got a deal, enjoy your great car!

Thanks! Fairey Chevrolet in Orangeburg, SC - an absolutely fantastic experience. I have never had such an easy or quick car purchase.

I've walked out of two dealers who insisted on market adjustments. Found another 20 miles away who accepted MSRP only (granted, my order hasn't gone code 2000 yet, but...). I suppose it may depend a little on whether you're going for a rare build with very limited allocations (I could honestly see an argument for a collectors edition or ZL1) but I was literally told +$7k "market adjustment" for an LT1. People who pay that are fools. Sorry, not sorry.

Wait until the ‘24s start arriving at dealers. Then you’ll see markups that will make your eyes bleed!
