I purchased an LT1 over an SS because I could build it exactly the way I wanted for the same price as a base SS. Plus I qualified for better financing programs with the LT1. Everything I wanted (except heated seats) and nothing I didn’t need. Kind of like building a PC vs buying one off the shelf.
I couldn’t be happier with my decision. |

If you where looking for a SS1LE it means that handling is important to you , the next logical choice if you don't get one is a SS that still has very good handling, but not an LT1 with narrower tires and less braking power.

I had a 16’ 1SS and now LT1 with RS and tech package. A8 vs A10. Better brakes, Better tech, and has reverse cam. I cant compare the two. Also LT1 with deal I got made the SS and ripoff. I sort of prefer the LT1 front end. I only liek the SS front end on ZL1. Enjoy your car and drive safe.

For me, I don't like the LT1 front end, prefer the SS front end (and really prefer the ZL1 front end)...

I had built out an LT1 and was 3 weeks away from delivery but I was settling for that since that was all the dealer had an allocation. Was only searching one night and found what I really wanted a 2ss1le. If you are thinking about settling don't you'll think about it every time you look at your car.

LT1 is a great trim level if low/ no optioned.
The rear calipers alone are a deal killer for me. |

I actually came to like the LT1 grill, but the no Brembo rear calipers or even the option to upgrade later was the deal killer for me. For track duty, the missing coolers and rear brakes are a buzz kill. For a drag strip racer, it would be perfect to build.

I have been in the OP's position more than once. You have something specifically in mind but get anxious when you are waiting on an order and settle for something different. I found when I do that, I always regret it! Big difference in a 2SS 1LE manual and an Automatic LT1. Check the Chevrolet Website for In transit Camaros and you may just find your 1SS or 2SS 1LE available for sale. That is how I found my '21 Blazer and '23 ZL1 manual Convertible!
