They might have been pissed but it didn't stop HALO 2 from getting in the record books for making the most money in a 24 hour period in the games and the entertainment industry selling $125 MILLION in gross receipts in just 24 hours. lol

sure, but that was because of two things: It was already a highly anticipated game - Halo rocked - and two, because that waiting added to the want factor...which is what I hope will happen with GM, 2009 is a long way away

they always release the new model in sept. and the new camaro will be released Sept. 08. with the convertable released sept 09. Unfortunately, it wont be a True 40th, tho there were rumors that they were going to label it as a 40th due to the new model paying homage to the 69 ("greatest year for the Camaro") If they would have gotten their asses in gear and released it at the end of 06 as a true 40th ann. 07 Camaro it would have sold like no tomorrow.
the fact that there is so much buildup about it can work against sales for the car. it will allow those who aren't true die hard camaro people to think more about buying it over the new corvette, or...dare I say it, the mustang.

you have to be careful when marketing things like this. for instance, one of the best things about the new transformers movie is the fact that while screenshots and trailers have been leaked and shown to the public and the hard core fans have already read the script (which changed a lot during shooting) there hasn't been a whole lot shown about the movie, which leaves that much more to be desired. Even if the movie is a flop (which I know it wont be), by not "over-indulging" people with it, they keep the interest alive.
Everyone knows what the new camaro will look like, what options it will have (tho some are still being debated), we have had the chance to delve into every detail of the car. I know personally quite a few people who said that they would not buy it if it comes with IRS just for that fact.
I honestly wish that they would have released it as an 07 model so that they could work all the kinks out of it by getting the response from the public so that by the time I can afford one things are runnin strong from the get-go.
But oh well. I started this rant, then had to stop for work purposes and forgot where I was going with it........

CAMAROs RULE!!!!!

and so do TRANSFORMERS!!!!

but more so than that... CAMARO TRANSFORMERS RULE!!!! BUMBLEBEE FTW!

If the new Camaro costs as much as a new C6 (and if I had that kind of money) I wouldn't buy the Camaro. Because it isn't a Camaro anymore. The whole point of the car was top notch performance UNDER a Vette price tag. Just my opinion though.

The Camaro will never be C6 money - it's market just isn't aimed that high. Besides that, it's still GM and they'd have to be pretty stupid to have these cars compete in that market segment.

Exaclty, the Camaro will NEVER even come close to the Vette pricing - or else that's a signal that one of two things, or both could be happening...The Camaro is being marketed towards the upper end, luxury car buyers, and the Vette is being marketed towards the lower end "want a fun car to drive" people....I don't think so

As for the 'IRS' comment, even if they hadn't released that info, people aren't going to buy a car simply because it looks good, they will check into it, ask questions. The IRS will come up inevitably, and then they still won't buy it - stupid if you ask, me - but the IRS announcement didn't hurt or help, I don't think.
