New member- Car seat in z/28

Been doing a lot of reading on these cars. And I won't do another zl1 or z/28 thread. I can't get the z/28 out of my mind lately.

I have seen threads on car seats in the regular Camaro and figured the z/28 would be the same. But since the interior is stripped on z/28 can anyone confirm if (2) car seats will fit?

My dad and I own a 67 GTO together and are in the process of selling it. We think the z/28 is a great replacement. He's not much of a driver anymore but would like to have something more modern to get in and drive. He doesn't seem to be interested in zl1 and I have warned him the z/28 is a little rough. But he's not concerned and neither am I. He's not old 63 but he is beat up physically.

Enjoy the discussion on this board and soaking in all information I can. Looks like quite a few listed on auto trader.

Anyone in Michigan with a z/28? I've only seen one and it's been A while

Can’t confirm car seats as I don’t have any. But the interior is not stripped. It’s essentially the same as every 5th Gen. There’s a few posts on car seats in 5th gens. What’s “stripped” is the back seat has less padding and noise dampening than others. And the trunk is stripped of carpet. The seats are also manual as to power to lighten them. Hope that helps a little!

That is great info! Thank you for that. I suspect there will not be any issues with the car seats.

You might want to consider a different vehicle if you've got to load 2(!) car seats into your back seat area. My backseat is OK for a gym bag or a SMALL amount of groceries but if I had to strap in some living creatures I think my lower back would protest loudly. If you absolutely must transport two toddlers consider something with 4 doors like a Chevy SS or a Cadillac CTS-V. I saw a white Caddy dressed up with a black spoiler and splitter. WOW!

Good points. I don't think it will be an often occurrence it will be by choice to go for a cruise. I can't imagine it often at all.

If it’s for the occasional cruise I’m sure the back seat would be fine. I’ve had my kids in the back seat for an occasional cruise and they have always enjoyed it. No complaints...only grins...

I concur with above points. Probably not good idea to fit two car seats in the back. But it could be done with patiently maneuvering

However, the Z does have a bigger back seat legroom compared to other sport coupes.

I drive my two kids around all the time. 5 year old is in there pretty tight but the 8 year old is in a booster which fits very well.

My dad used to drive us around in an ‘86 944….that was hell on earth haha.

I can confirm they fit! Forward facing as well as reverse facing. I've had two seats in there no problem.
