Well that sucks. Wonder how long it'll take to get them installed after delivery

I will certainly find some way to cope without Heat/cooled seats and/or a heated steering wheel if it gets my car built.

That's the million dollar question as no one really knows at this point. GM is targeting something like 4th quarter of this year but at this point, who knows.

I was told that GM was going to try to confirm orders on this allocation for sold retail units but looking at the constraints that doesn't seem possible. It appears even more obvious that convertibles are not being build at any kind of volume. Not sure what to believe at this point, but I’m not counting on getting a car at all!

I lucked out - mine was built on 3/28 with no 00V RPO. I think the seats will just be missing the control module. I had thought about buying seats or modules from a salvage yard and installing them.

I totally agree. I’d rather the car not have them to be honest due to complexity and weight. However the fact that 4 total buttons on the dash would not work on a brand new 65-70k car is simply unacceptable in my opinion. I don’t care how much you discount it and promise you’ll fix it after the fact. I’d rather it sit bayed for 3 months than have a car that does not work properly from the factory.

Furthermore I do not want the dealer to ever have an excuse to touch the car again, and buying it with a chip shortage would be doing just that. I also do not trust GM to supply the chips. They are cutting this feature so they can use those chips to build more cars without chips . Long story short if the car does not come with them I will not take delivery.

Hey Guys, I'm new here...

Just wondering, how long it is taking people to get their cars once they are built. I placed the order with my dealer on 10/14/21. Found out this week that the car was built and at 3800 status!!!!! 1SS black with black rims! SIMPLE!

Does it take a couple weeks, a couple months? I'm in NY and if I cant drive the car this summer, I would rather order at 2023!! I'm trading in my 2017 Camaro, so I'm not without a racecar! Just impatient!

Thanks!

My car was built early Feb. Just stated in-transit this week. NY dealer as well. It's on a rail... exploring the states... seeing more of the USA in it's short time of completion than I have in 38 years! ETA to dealer 4/23

So - of all crazy things..... I Might be back into the Camaro thing. Am I to understand that IF you order a car that has no constraint items then you can plan on getting it in about 2-3 months? Like, just a basic trim 2.0 turbo in like 1LT trim or a base-level car?

Also - have people found that when cars show up on Cars.com or through Chevy's locator website that they are actually available or are most/all sold? Just curious.

Thanks.

There are six days left to order a 2022 and it probably won't happen. 2023s can be ordered on the 28th but if there are any constraints on your order it will sit until it can be placed. Three months if everything is aligned but most are waiting longer.

It probably won't be possible for the '22 model year. The '23 model year will still be slow no matter what you order due to the parts shortage. I think 4-6 months is more realistic nowadays. A couple years ago, they were coming much faster.

Thanks all - didnt even think about ordering a 2022 is likely over at this stage. Its already April 2022!

Any thoiughts on cars showing up via Chevy locator/cars.com? There was an LT1 V8 6 speed "stripper" car that was like 20 miles away but was sold. I would have grabbed it right away. Just seems like most or all of these cars that pop up in searches are spoken for but people claim they have scored cars this way.

They are out there and I think more may be coming in. I've been searching the Chevy locator daily for the last 2-3 weeks and yesterday a 2SS close to my specs appeared that I'd never seen before. When I contacted the dealer it was available, but they want $5k over MSRP so I had to pass on it.

Got it. Yeah, that’s the other part that comes into play. I’d pay sticker or close to it for the right car but nothing over. They know what the situation is though, right? .
