If you haven't seen this already, the following 2023 Blazer web page has images showing the new colors (scroll down a bit), but that's not going to be showing any of the color's real-life subtleties:

Chevy simply CANNOT get away from using both a bright red, and a ruby red metallic. Or a metallic silver, of course.

They replaced 2 colors with 2 virtually identical colors lol

GM rarely takes chances if there's not a lot of upside. It would be nice if they came out with a commemorative color/package for their last few years but they're not the same company that brought us the original SS concept, the GTO, or the GNX. Not knocking the current version, but they're much more conservative as a company.

Those rumors were squashed weeks ago. There is a interview floating around somewhere That some higher up in Chevy had said the cost and lead times to make any engine changes was not gonna happen. That the cost for certification and the development and testing was just not an expense they were gonna do for such a low selling car that was on way out. That they were also not gonna make capitol investments to change a production line for a one year model run.

But they also mention it on GMauthority as well Quote " The lack of suspension and powertrain upgrades for the final few model years of the sixth-generation Chevy Camaro can be chalked up to emissions and/or internal validation costs that simply can’t be justified for the nameplate at this point in time."

There is how ever some positive speculation that a farewell edition might have the same lt4 from the Cadillac (since they are built on same line) that produces 668 HP. But I seriously doubt they will put the lt2 anyway regardless with everyone of those engines needed to just keep up with the 2 years of back orders on C8s

Heck, they don't even have to change the hardware, a tune alone would gain 10-20 extra horsepower. A little extra timing here, a bit of torque management removed there and boom, you have just made 670 hp.

The scarce few who'll buy that farewell edition are most likely collectors, so gm wouldn't be taking much of a risk with the powertrain warranty.

The Blackwing LT4 isn't happening either. Regardless of how minor the changes might seem, there's a process to doing this stuff inside GM. Test cars need be built, durability tests need to be run, EPA and CARB emissions testing needs to be documented and certified.

Let's say it costs 5 million to do all that - that's almost certainly a low number, but it's plausible. If they tack on a $2500 price increase to each ZL1, that would require 2,000 sales to cover the cost. I haven't seen the 2021 numbers, but in 2020 they built less than 2,000 total. Keeping in mind that they'll probably sell 1,500-2,500 cars in their last year without making any changes, the 5 million dollar question is: Will this change result in 2,000 additional sales compared to keeping everything as is?

I really doubt it does.

No arguments here, I never thought it was going to happen either. Just pointing out that this is pretty definitive evidence. I think that was the consensus on this board, but there were plenty of people commenting on one of the Facebook pages how it was gonna happen.

At this point I'd be surprised if they even do a farewell edition. I'm just going to lower my expectations and hope that at some point between now and the end I can place an order for some shade of green ZL1....

In fact, I'm kind of leaning towards an unannounced surprise. "Here is the Camaro SUV Crossover you've all been waiting for, all electric! It's called the Camaro 2:Electric boogaloo. By the way no more regular ones, and all pending orders are cancelled."

Points for obscure movie reference.

I'm kind of ok with GM not doing some sort of farewell edition, as that will make ALL Camaros the "farewell edition". I figure these cars will mostly go to collectors and will sit in storage. I honestly think that if GM had ANY sense, they'd create hybrid Camaros. This would give Camaro buyers the exhaust rumble that they love, the instant torque to run with Teslas and other EVs, and would slowly pull the hard core ICE buyers towards a "compromise". I'd love to have an electric motor that can get the Camaro off the line with instant rich electric torque, alongside a big hearty roaring V8 that is only summoned after the small electric motor has done its job.
