winter ice racing

Interesting use case, but I figured some of you would get a kick out of it. Took my 1LE ice racing! Actually won my class, and beat almost half the awd snow tire class and majority of the fwd snow tire class. Using 295/30/20 Michelin pa4 winter tires all around, all assists off, and stick shift of course. I’m actually considering potentially studs for the next winter season if I don’t upgrade to a zl1

I was going to try it this winter, either with my camaro or stinger, both on studded tires, but the ice wasn't safe because it was too warm. Basically since new years, we've gotten warm storm after warm storm, rain, etc., here in Alaska, so it's been tough and the entire ice-racing season on the big lakes was canceled :(

Now that looks like fun as heck!!! I used to LOVE whipping my little 5-speed Z24 in the snow and pulling j-hooks!

And to think some people don't even drive their car in the rain.

Most 1LE owners don’t even drive their cars hard. They just get them for the clout

LOL! I will say the Recaros are much more comfortable than I expected. Drove my car home 5 hours from the dealership and they never felt uncomfortable or made me feel tired. You don't move much in them either. They definitely hold you in place.

I drove mine from the dealer in Muncy PA to Chicago (11 hours). It’s surprisingly a really good road trip car. Makes decent mileage (22-25ish), passing power, and enough space for a well packed couple.
