I have a GT350R and we just picked up a Zl1 vert manual for my wife. Drove it from Atlanta, GA to Dallas, Texas. . They are different answers to the same question of going fast. The R rides like a trash truck compared to the ZL1. I have not driven a 1LE but I hear they are rough also. Still love the R. The flat plane crank sure drives different.

Here are the pictures the sales team send over:
Finally seeing the ZL1 in person. That is my blue GT350 lurking in the background: Stopped at a rest area to, well rest: ZLE is home! Wonderful gravel drive way! : |

Very nice!
You may want to get some PPF or rock guards on the car to help with rock chips from the sticky tires kicking up everything in sight. |

As for my thoughts on ZLE vs G350 - I don't believe after driving them both that is a fair comparison. The power of the ZLE is just entirely in another league. I would be more inclined to put the 350 against a 2SS. I get it now!
I had the Leather seats in the 350, not the Recaro's. Didn't have a choice as selection was slim when I was hunting. My wifes thoughts on the difference between the two, I just jotted some notes while she was talking about it. My comments and thoughts in (). 350 is much better sounding. You hear the engine sing, where the ZLE quiets down. ( I think this is because of the NPP doing weird things, even in Track. I agree, it's not nearly as impressive stock. I will look to correct this with after market. Looking at a Corsa Xtreme. ) Ride quality is not bad in the ZLE, at least not as bad as I expected with all the warning you gave me but you notice it more if the roads are absolutely terrible. In fact getting up to speed the ZLE felt way more steady and stable. The 350 felt a little less smooth and more jerky because of the high RPM. ( Yeah the ZL1 1LE suspension is definitely more "ON" and very sprung, but hell I love it. The car felt like it was begging for more in the turns. I also agree overall the ZLE feels smoother under hard acceleration. ) Seats in both were fine. The 350's were a little more plush being leather, but the ZLE holds you in and aren't terrible. Although, I was able to lay back in the 350 and take a nap, and the ZLE I cant because the seats don't go back like that. ( I'm a big dude, 6'4 290 and the ZLE seats bolsters are not big enough for this mass. I fit, but its a workout. That's fine, I have a legit reason to lose some weight... outside of not dying from obesity and stuff.... The 350 seats were ok. Nothing special. Not overly comfy, and not overly sporty. I only mention this because I did notice a big difference between the two. ) The ZLE is WAY faster in almost every situation. I feel it when you pushed the gas, and I feel the corners. (Me too. Me tooooo.) (I found the clutch in the ZLE to be more predictable. The 350 clutch had some weird tension at times and I would find myself hunting for the release point in low speed situations. The ZLE is just there. All the time. In the same spot. ) (Visibility is fine. With blindspot monitoring I had zero issues with anything. Also with the 1LE wing, I was able to use the rear view quite a bit. I do admit if there is a situation where I need to turn at an odd angle and traffic is coming from the rear pillar I'll need to crane a bit. ) There are likely some additional thoughts we have, but wanted to get these and the pictures up lest this thread completely die due to OP not having his shit together. All and all I knew I would enjoy the extra power, and the suspension but I didn't realize just how much I would. I do plan on getting some PS4S's for daily driving, but the stock ones aren't horrible in dry warm weather. |

Great info on the 350 vs 1LE.
Makes me want to add a 1LE before the Camaro goes away. D. |

Awesome ride. Congrats!! I also switched from a GT350 to the ZLE. Same thoughts, the ZLE feels planted on the road and give me more confidence. The GT350 was all over the place and the tram lining was just horrible. But the exhaust and engine sound of the GT350 were intoxicating. Enjoy the new ride!

I'd only go with a GM Protection Plan, as 3rd party warranties are typically unreliable.
