I've got two spare sets of rears but could use some fronts to pair up with them. Tirerack must have gotten rid of all of the older date code 285/30/20's

Yep, they had them twice last year, that I know of. I check Tirerack about every two weeks or so. Now that Spring/Summer is right around the corner, I suspect you will see all of the GYSC3s go on closeout. I have gotten my last two sets this way, save a bunch of $ and the tires are fine on the track.

Do you have a link? I'm not seeing that price on their website.

They are on page 5 of the list of 305/30/20 sizes.

OK so...I’ll ask a stupid question here. You guys just buy them, store them in the basement and put them on when needed? I have a little over 1500 miles on my current set and would love to save some money when the time comes. I just don’t want to spend close to $500 only to have them go bad after a short period of time. Thanks for the help.

Should be fine as long as you keep them in a climate controlled environment, preferably out of the elements.

They are stored in climate controlled area at Tirerack so they don’t “age” or harden. Just like buying new date code. I keep mine till I’m ready to use them and never had an issue.

I have purchase 2 sets of fronts and one set of rears this way and have never had a problem with them on the track. I store them in my finished basement, until I need them.

That is correct, they are 2017 production. Tirerack stores their tires in climate controlled warehouses. I have never had any issue with tires I have purchased this way.

Tirerack has this closeout sale on the GYSC3s about 3 times a year. It is a great way to save some serious change. When GY has a rebate on them if you use their CC, you save even more, usually in the summer I have seen folks purchase a complete set of 4 for less than $750. You can't beat that anywhere.
Close-out price, use the GY CC to purchase on tirerack and save an additional $100-200. Plus GY CC is 6 months same as cash!
