Did I Install My Catch Can Backwards??

I never really questioned why my catch can never caught much oil.
Can I please get some clarification if my catch can is installed correctly or backwards? I bought this from Tracy in 2011 and it has been on the car for 100,000 miles. No codes or anything.

If it is installed backwards, what damage can be caused?
If it is installed backwards, what should I do to fix any potential issues that may be building up?

Thanks for any help. Kind of freaking out here!!

Looks like your are backwards on the install from the view I can see from your pics vs. the pics and info at the link here:

It appears to be backwards to me as well. If you are standing at the front of the car the right side hose should cross over the left one and connect to the to port closest to the firewall.

I’d say a good indicator is all the oil build up the intake tube to the left of the catch can.

Going to switch it around today.

Any ideas if this would cause damage or what I need to open up to clean and inspect?

Thanks
Allen

Doubtful it did any damage. You could remove the intake tube off the throttle body and clean it if it’s oily. After you switch the lines around, check the catch can again.

I ended up putting back the stock hose for now. I’m planning on upgrading to a Heartbeat Supercharger this year and planned for a new Catch Can anyway. Going to probably go the EC2 Elite route.

Was gonna say that engine is hard to look at lol. I wipe mine down with a slightly wet rag after every wash and it’s stays nice and clean. No need to for me to ever spray it down.

Hahahaha. I usually keep it clean, but it’s been stored away a few months. I rarely drive it now, but starting to get back on the upkeep. I washed the engine today.

For now I have the stock hose back in place. I also had my CAI out for a recent smog 3 months ago. Kooks Headers arriving in about 2 weeks, so the engine will get a more thorough detailed job as well.
