Unhappy How to repair/replace bank 1 knock sensor harness?

I've searched saw no how to on this.

2011 L99, long tube headers burned through my bank 1 harness. How the heck do I get that harness off to replace or try to repair it? Literally no room to work in there. Will I have to remove the headers? I've currently got a P0328 and car runs like crap as it's pulling timing with the damaged harness.

Thanks all!

Edit: it appears it was just mostly the insulation that was burned through, but harness was directly on header when it threw the code. I can move the harness and wires are still in tact. I am able to get about 2 volts when i check it with the key on. Should I be good to go if I clear the code? Or is it likely still damaged?

I was thinking maybe I could squeeze my hand in there to wrap a little electrical tape and secure the harness away from the headers.

You can buy the pigtail and splice it (solder and heat shrink tubing) into the existing harness. I don't believe there is a separate harness you can buy.

Ok, just a standard GM 2 prong pigtail? I didn't see a specific one listed on the old Google.

It's gonna be fun trying to work in that tiny space. I can just barely get my hand in there, much less my soldering iron.

Thanks for the advice!

OK so any pointers on the best way to get the old pigtail connector off of the sensor? With longtubes, there is no room. I really don't want to have to remove the headers and drop the exhaust just to get this thing changed out. I can't be the only one who's melted a harness on their headers.

Did you clear the code and the car runs without issue?

I cleared the code and it came back. Ended up finally getting the harness off and it looks like a few wires burned through and I definitely need a new one.

I'm having trouble finding an exact harness plug, so I'm hoping these universal AC Delco branded pigtails work. They are unmarked though so I'm not sure which wire connects to which when I go to splice in the new one.

Had the happen on my old CTS-V. No choice but to remove header and cut, solder/splice in a new section. Made sure to wrap everything with heat tape and insulation while I was in there, and used stainless zip ties to secure all hoses/wiring away from headers.

Did the same when I put headers on the '15 Camaro too.
