why did you choose 295 on your rear over wider?
Here are my fronts so you can see fitment. I'm stock height, 20x10 w/ +35 offset and 275/40 front and rear....

275 40 20 up front and 315 35 40's on rear, now with that said, everyone will tell you not to do this.
First reason i did this is i was tired of scraping the rims on the curb, the tires balloon a little, so no curb rash since, i also have the Rs V6.
Second and most important I got the (i did have some goodyears) BMW Bridgestone run Flats and they have a better road life, I've had these tires on my car for at least 2 years and still have life left in them.

275 on front 315's on rear - fits just fine. Rims are 9.5 front and 10.5 rear.

what is the front offset?

I just picked up a set of the 19x10.5 Apex wheels on the winter sale. 35ET and plan to run 285-35 square on them with a 15mm front spacer, so effectively 20ET front on a 10.5" wheel. I ordered the Eibach pro-spacers which seem to be very well made specifically for these cars. My set-up will be rotatable - although with the miles I drive this car that won't matter too much. I've only used up 50% of the original tires in 3.5 years of driving.

TireRack has a heck of a deal on the Cooper RS3 tires which I plan to order this week - $132 a tire in the 285 size. Hard to beat that. My next pick would have been either S007A for $250 or Pilot SS for ~$300. so 1/2 to 1/3 the cost on those coopers, figure it's worth running them for a few years anyway. I have a neighbor running those on his E39 M5.

I have 20x10/20x11 replicas and ran 315/35/20 in the rear and there was annoying rub occasionally on the passenger side. I just switched to 335/30/20 on the same wheels and it almost never rubs now.

Unfortunately, Firestone does not offer a 315/35/20, so I opted for the 305/35/20 in the rear. 275/40/20 in the front. MRR755 gloss black, 20x10 and 20x11. Getting mounted next Tuesday. Can't wait!!!!
